I have one with something on it that I cannot get off (hard to see in pic), and it's like the clear coat is peeling also. I've looked into having it re-fished and that costs $100 per wheel. I really only need one done.

I want to get a price for buying a replacement too, but cannot find this style anywhere online. I know buying will probably be a little more, but if not much more, I might go that route because it would be less of a pain in the ass than taking mine in to get refinished (the place is not close).

    Suggestions?

    Thanks,

    Dealership or Eghey?

    They look like TSS rims.

    Thanks.

I know a dealership is going to charge too much. I thought I might be able to find them online. It's strange to me that I cannot find them but can find every other Toyota wheel.

Not familiar with TSS...is that "Tacoma Sport Series"?

Don't think so...mine is just a Prerunner...here is another pic...

...so I guess mine are not TSS rims...I'm still a little surprised mine are so hard to find to buy anywhere. I see these on Tacomas all over around here. Are these not common elsewhere?

    Thanks,

It meas Texas edition. There is another edition SST (IIRC) too. It's typically found in Florida, Georgia, etc. Did you buy the truck new?

No...it's an 07...bought it about a month ago.

My personality is a bad combo...I am a cheap bastard (years of being in financial services) which is why I like to buy used, but I am also anal so the little flaws that come with buying used sometimes bother me, although I try to fix as many as I can.

Truck was in really good shape for the most part, except for smoke smell which I took care of when adding leather seats (has new car/leather smell now) and this one wheel. The other 3 are in pretty good shape.

Hey, another Pearland guy... Those wheels are put on by GST (Gulf States Toyota) for sale by the dealers in TX, LA, etc. I have not seen any independant source for these wheels, but they show up here in the BST forum occasionally, and also on craislist (check the local TX and other GST state's) and eBay.

I sold mine off of my 09 shortly after buying it last year on craigslist.

Another member here, Mulkey (who never posts, lol) has them powder coated. He lives a couple streets down the road from me. Looks good.

Those look a lot better painted than I would have thought! Makes me wonder about painting them...like a silver or graphite (so less of a chrome look). I don't think black would look as good on my color truck. I had black rims on my last vehicle (silver Montero Sport) and loved that look.

That's another idea...although I bet that is fairly expensive.

    Thanks,

I was going reasonably cheap, I got a set of Gunner 6's from Discount tire, they were $450 mounted, then I sold the GST wheels for $300.

Not a fan of the GST wheels as I am an avid anti-chromite, also not a big fan of the blacked out wheels either, so this leaves me much fewer choices...
