I’m just trying to diagnose I have the 170 and not the 160 without tearing out the thermostat again.

I have the 160* thermostat and my truck runs in the 175*-180* range. The highest I’ve seen is 183*.

That’s what I’m seeing on my end too. I’m now positive I have the 170 degree. Gadget wants me to tear it apart again to confirm before he sends me a 160, but that’s some work, including another $40 in coolant. So I’m just gunna settle with it

I’m sure you’ll be fine. During the hottest part of the summer here which for a few days were very comparable to FL weather, it stayed right at 190....

The coolant is easily caught in a clean Rubbermaid bin and can be reused.

Yea I understand that and that was my plan. But with my other daily ( 96 civic hatch) having a few issues. I can’t be without the truck :/. If I pull the thermostat, and it’s the wrong one, waiting for another one would be atleast 2 days. Again it’s all good. The truck is running great and as it should.

I get that but you keep saying how it's another $40 in coolant. There's plenty of data here to suggest what you have and what it should run like in other temps. If you're not happy with that then you have a solution available.

Damn I can't wait til I can get one of these for my truck!

 I understand and when I have time I’ll end uomdoing what you suggested into a clean bucket for re-use! You’ll love the radiator. Great upgrade.

If you paid Gadget extra for the 160 then you should get the correct part.
I would order the one I sent you via PM so you have it available, then when you get the old one out maybe Gadget will give you a credit or something.

The 160 tstat is mostly for the boosted folks to try to keep detonation down.

So that’s the point I brought up to gadget and ordered the 160. So he said when I receive it, pull mine out, and then send it back for a refund.

Lol I will admit, he didn’t seem happy with me. And just kind of had an “attitude”? Almost like I was blaming him for sending the wrong part even though he was super cool about tending me the thermostat if indeed it is wrong. Just still, hard guy to read over the phone haha

    Here's an interesting TSB.

Looks like they're adding the condenser fan for Mexico spec trucks and then operating it based on refrigerant pressures.
They also add quite a bit of sealing to the core support as well to help prevent hot air from sneaking around.

    Seals:

    #1 36869-04020 COVER, P $6.87
    #2 36869-04010 COVER, P $8.25
    #3 36869-04030 COVER, P $8.25
    #4 36869-04040 COVER, P $7.61
    #5 53286-04010 SEAL, RA $7.64
    #6 53285-04010 SEAL, RA $6.03
    #7 53398-04010 SEAL, RA $47.87
    #8 36867-04040 SEAL, PA $10.89

    Pressure switch stuff:

    88645-04070 Pressure switch
    90301-A0010 Pressure switch O-ring
    90980-10943 Connector Housing
    82998-12440 Wires (You'll need two)
