Tacoma - OVTUNE - VFTUNER - Update Info and Original Development

@OVTune Since these trucks are all the same on paper (2016-2019) but drive so differently, have you personally driven another tuned truck to see how it feels? You say your Pro feels great with the tune while a select few others are still having more issues than the average truck. Maybe rent one for a day or 2 and test your newest tune iteration on another vehicle. The reason I mention this is because my truck still gives the hesitation/stuttering at highway speeds, low rpms and high loads. Mine doesn't do it on the stock TSB tune.

 

Any help . So when i get to step 4 download location it ask what app do i want to run.

Please submit this to zendesk with all of your trucks info so we can track and pinpoint it. We may need you to do some file testing to rule things out.
Since the issue seems to be pretty much non existent on Manual trucks the next place to look at is the torque converter at this point.
This same issue is also present on some 2019 trucks with 04B30 ecu specifically (tune or non tuned) so we are continuing testing as well with those that have this problem.

Wow this 91 1.05 performance tune feels like my old Amg E63.

 

Running TS 13.30.018(BL). Just downloaded the CUW files and unzipped file. When I click on the CUW file it states that software registration is required to run the CUW application. Any suggested info or links for TS which doesn't require this. thanks!

This version of TS works for 2016 and 2017 Tacos. It will allow you to install the ECU TSB on any model year since it makes the CUW file an executable / installer file.

 

you can't just click on the CUW file. You have to select it from within TS.

If you're running 13.30 and you followed the directions ( you can connect to your truck), open TS before opening the CUW file. The crack only works if it is launched before opening TS. The CUW file does not launch the crack first.

Thanks for your reply. Sorry to hear about the shift points but happy to know SSP is still working and hopefully making up for things.

I like to wind out the gears a little myself and don't like to be in 4th or 5th before I reach the other side of the intersection.
We all know by now this engine thrives on revs. SSP makes my truck and these tunes all that much better IMHO.

Using SSP with OVT seems counter-intuitive, and implies that you just cannot be happy with any of the maps that Mat has ever put together. So why stay tuned?
