Very true.....my 3rd Tacoma in 17 years. They are tough, rugged and the most reliable truck ever built. Nothing is perfect including you and I. Enjoy!

it's more fun to drive than your Subie but you'll have to work for it!

welcome to TW. from another former Subaru owner. ;)

Tip 1. Realize that you will be ruined for anything other a truck.
Tip 2. Buy it and get off of this forum. You will never meet a group more helpful in spending your money.

The Tacoma is going to feel like driving an aircraft carrier compared to the Subaru. Be careful in R

I'm not big into mods. I like stock things. But I will need a Topper.

The cartridge oil filter is kinda old school. My only data point is a subaru from the 90's which had a spin on. My lawn mower has a spin on. Why does toyota do this? Just a question. Ryan

Test drive more than the 5 minute around the block sales route
    Hide your wallet
Oil change is every 10k miles or 12 months
The 5k/6month service is just tire roation and look at the visible fluid levels
You may hear a pump running approximately 5 hours after parking truck, this is normal, its an evap test.
If you do your own oil changes make sure you drain the oil and not the trans fluid
Plenty of information for lift and tires here already, no need to make a new thread when that time comes
If you can wait until 2020, those will have power driver seat and Apple Car Play
Just because there are TSBs out, does not mean your truck needs it done and the dealer does not have to do it if they can't find a need
You can use any Toyota Dealer for warranty/service work
Hide your wallet again, because you probably found it by now
Enjoy your truck, and keep in mind it will drive like a truck, not like a car

Test drive the truck. You will read alot of people on here with issues about the truck but please keep in mind this is an enthusiast website so people here will be more critical. Some are legit complaints but dont be afraid to get the tacoma. If they were so bad and so many issues as we portray them the you would of heard about it on the news.

Get it and go have fun.

A lot of good advice on this thread. Like others have said take it on an extended test drive. It's a great truck buy it and have fun with it whether modding, wheeling, mall crawling, etc.

    EDIT: BTW Welcome

I've been a member on this forum for 3 days now and have spent 65$ on an electric lock for the tailgate yesterday and 500$ on some seat covers today. I'm headed towards a DEEEVORCE if I don't get off this forum now. Well...... after the Leer topper and lift. Then I will quit. Seriously, ive owned Chevy's and still own my big one ton for towing but i've had my 2016 Tacoma for 4 months now and I just enjoy the shit out of it. Its just fun. If you dont need a big truck then I cant imagine you will regret a Tacoma.

The crawl control feature blows my mind. I used sticks and shovels with the subie. wow.
