If im understanding this correctly with a 12v source couldn’t you just use a SPDT switch and cut the wires original camera reverse feed put one side to one terminal and common and then a second 12v source to the third terminal on the switch this way you can throw the switch on and trick the camera to think its in reverse

yes then you wouldnt need a diode either. i think the switches that fit though are spst.

1P to the feed out to camera
1T feed out from ecu 12v to camera
2T feed out from switch 12v to camera

he doesnt make them anymore. i could put together a y harness for you to do yourself but it wouldnt be plug and play and you would need to buy a switch yourself

There are a few decent alternatives.

There's one that uses the steering wheels controls to choose between front /rear cameras as well as Papadave's thread. Both have been mentioned in this thread.

Alright, looking for a little help from people smarter than me.
    Front and rear switches
    Rear works just fine-
28 pin black wire to green cable
28 pin red wire to R1
    R2 to interior lights
    Black to ground

Where I am having trouble is on the front camera.
28 pin black wire to green
28 pin red wire to R1
    R2 to red relay
Black and relay black to ground.

In order the front camera to turn on I also need to turn on the rear. And since R2 is being used to connect to the relay it does not turn on with the lights.
Only way I could get it to turn on was this way so where is my screw up on the front switch.

I'll need to figure out how to get my front camera working. I bought the kit from JJ back when he was still here. I think I misplaced a harness. What all came in the front and rear camera kit from JJ?

:pccoffee: sorry I miss understood what you were asking.
    Does this help?
The two wires will be connected directly to the switch to control the harness. We recommend using our switch (ABC-FRS pictured below) but you can also use any SPST (Single Pole Single Throw) switch of your liking.
The RED wire from the Anytime Backup Camera harness (ABC-28) supplies 12v to the system and should be connected to the RED wire on our switch (ABC-FRS).
Next the ORANGE wire on the Anytime Backup Camera harness (ABC-28) is the load and should be connected to the ORANGE wire on our switch (ABC-FRS)
Next you will install the Video Harness and Relay (ABC-FRONT) which come with your kit. The Video Harness has 24 wires with two factory style connectors on each end and two Yellow RCA plugs on it. Similarly to the ABC-28 harness, the Video Harness will also plug into the rear of your factory in dash screen. The Video harness will plug into the rear of the screen then the factory harness will plug into the other end of the Video Harness.
You now need to connect the Video Harness and the Switching Relay. The MALE RCA plug on the Video Harness will plug into the MARKED FEMALE RCA on the Switching Relay and the MALE RCA on the Switching Relay will plug into the FEMALE RCA on the Video Harness. Your kit will come pre-assembled like this so you can skip this step in most cases.
Next you will need to connect the GREEN and BLACK wires on the Switching Relay. The GREEN wire will connect to the GREEN wire on the Anytime Backup Camera Front and Rear Switch (ABC-FRS). Then you will connect the BLACK wire from the relay to a chassis ground.

You should have received a google docs link for your specific vehicle and head unit. I still have mine and the link still works but mine's 2nd gen with base entune so probably different harness jumpers. Basically the rear switch fools the head unit into showing the video feed anytime and the front switch does the same while also toggling the video feed to the front camera instead.
    https://docs.google.com/document/d/18dYGNpbyRFkBi975l8eyUOvhU-eVoPXiergOct7JyHI/mobilebasic
The diode comes pre installed on the jumper harness but you have to to install the two on the switches. First part is HU R&R, the harness schematic is at the bottom.

So here is a diagram of how I see it connecting. Does anyone else use 2 switches or is everyone using just the 1. The way I see it I have to turn on the rear camera for the override and then the front. Front wont work by only clicking that due to it not wired in to the override. So I can either press both to turn on the front or wire in another relay. Or am I wrong somewhere
