Have you tried setting the high speed knob to the softest setting and low speed to middle or firmer setting? I set the high speed to softest setting and low speed to middle setting and it feels great. I have a about 1 3/16" preload on the driver side and 15/16" on passenger side. I sitting between a 2 5/8" and 2 11/16" lift up front. I have sliders and a 50 lb skid plate up front.

What PSI are your tires set at? That can make the ride stiff.

Right now I have LSC at 4 clicks and HSC at the lowest setting. Tires are at 33-34 psi cold. I have gone through quite a few iterations of front suspension that may have contributed to LCA bushings wearing out. I wonder if the fact that the bushings are worn out is contributing to the poor ride quality. Not all the energy from hitting bumps is being directed straight up into the coil over.

Curious, now that you’ve had this leaf pack on for a year can you provide an update? Did they settle? Have you run into any issues with having standard length shocks? Any other feedback is much appreciated.

Nice looking truck! Not biased at all. Did you extend the brake lines for the rear?

@Daddy_Firebird I think the kit came with extended brake lines for the rear. I had a local tacomaworld referenced guy do the work....

It all came as a package deal from @HeadStrong Off-Road with the fox stage 2 with medium Dakar package.

I just checked headstrongs website and it doesnt specify if they added the ext. Length rear brake lines, and I cant the all off hand

A little update is my truck still sits with a 1.5 inch rake in the back vs. The front end (measured using center of hub to fender)

They did settle a little, but not by much; though on the bright side of that was no sagging issues. I ran the extended travel ADS rear shocks, but they weren't a whole lot longer than stock. They still rode well on road, and performed decent off road (for the trails around me, I often found myself in situations where even a mid-travel spring under rear would have been ideal... kind of like spots where you can't really go fast, but don't necessarily want to be stuck going slow). I think they would have been awesome paired with a 12" shock and either the BAMF or Archive relocation kit, with the hammer hangers. Which I did plan to do, but never got around to it; and unfortunately I no longer have my Taco (now have a 4Runner). I would still definitely recommend the leaf pack though.

Installed Sunday. This is for 6” lift kit, adjusted 1” more from factory. 2nd gen so that gave me 2” of lift, ride is so much better and height is just where I want it. 03FDBEBB-A77C-4C06-BF0C-284C8C437D77.jpg

My buddies and I installed Fox 2.5 DSCs w/ adjustable reservoirs last Saturday and I had my mechanic adjust the preload on these bitches and do an alignment yesterday. She is all dialed in now. 23.85” center hub to fender on fronts and 24.25” on rears. She rides like an absolute dream- soaks up the bumps. Also gave her a bath for the first time in months.

so it sounds like you are suggesting an alignment and set up all that preload nonsense???

I have ext length but that won't do anything for ride height. Ride height is all in the coil - 13" vs 14", 600# vs 650#, and preloading, etc.

Each truck is different and these are only meant to go up 2" on 3rd gens. Try cranking to the max, 1.925" of thread showing - a little less on passenger side for taco lean.

Ext length will only give more droop if the UCA's can accommodate. Stock UCA's won't do it.

As for harshness, might just be going too slow. They should be butter. Preload shouldn't affect ride quality because the coils force is linear, not progressive.

You lost so little it shouldn't matter.

Nitrogen pressure - @Bentrodder, you doing shock rebuilds? Can you check/refill nitrogen in fox?

this is what you're feeling. More feedback. Did you mess with the clickers?

Don't do spacers. That is a bad idea.

… and relocated the resi today with the strongly suggestions of @Blackdawg and @drr
    Much better location!!!!
Many thanks to @drr for the wisdom and help!
Nervously loosened the fittings to gently pivot the resi hose out of the way = no oil loss.
