I went ahead and bought shims when i did it. Told the mechanic (which i trust and is smart) to use them only if they were needed to get back to factory angles. He ended up using them, and my truck drives like stock (albeit, a little stiffer, but now shakes or shimmys)

3" lift front Bilstien 5100s at 0 with OME 887 coils, Freedom Offroad UCAs, Bilstien 5100 rear shocks, 1.5" lift rear Wheeler's Offroad progressive AAL packs, Airlift helper airbags, N-Fab nerf bars/side steps, all sittin' on Falken 265/75/16s on American Racing 16s
So I am looking at replacing my 5100s up front with OME nitros 90021 but I noticed everything says for 1-2” lift or 25mm lift which is about 1”

I have OME 887s which provide about 3” of lift. I’m a assuming 90021s will work just fine with 887s?

After talking with Marie at hs, I’m getting the impression the new 887’s won’t be in the 2.5 to 3 range. Is anyone else running 888’s to get up to the time 3” range? I’m debating on just doing that but idk quite yet.

Probably answered somewhere in this thread, but 5100,887, Dakar full pack set up..

Note about cycling suspension on headstrong. What is the probability of needing to replace bump stops with this setup? I am 2017 OR DCSB and also considering a sway delete..

Hey guys, just got the lift done, front bilstein 5100 with OME 2887, back 1.5 AAL with bilstein 5100, also changed out the ECGS bushing mine was worn out. Love the look and the ride is amazing better then stock. No vibrations drives smoothly.

I just ordered some Light Racing UCAs to install with my 887s. I got the 887s slightly used. I don't have a steel bumper, and I'm wanting to get a full 3" of lift. It seems most people now aren't getting the full 3" from their 887s, so would it be safe to set my 5100s at the first seeings above zero to even things out? I have Dakars in back, so I'd prefer not to have a downward angle to my truck.
    Thanks!

Hi guys, I have a pretty specific question hoping someone out there can chime in.

For those out there with a 2nd gen DCSB 4x4 and ran 5100s with 887s and the old Dakar HD CS047R leaf packs without any weight in the bed, were you sitting level with the full pack or would you recommend taking a leaf out to be level front to back?

I know you said specifically the older Dakar hd pack, but if it helps at all, I am running that exact setup with the newer version (EL096R) and it has a slight rake. I run with no weight typically and the ride is fine but it does sit higher in the rear since I swapped them from my progressive AALs. I recall reading that the old packs aren’t much different in ride height to the new ones though, someone correct me if I’m wrong.
*sorry my driveway isn’t level. My rear ended is lower than the front in the picture.

You don’t want to set the adjustable shocks higher than 0 (stock) especially with lift coils. Old Man Emu actually explicitly says not to do that. It is not going to give you a quality ride. It puts preload on them.

I have been pondering this as well. Since I’ve installed my Dakars, I have a rake. I am okay with it, but if you want to get a little more hight out of the front end, look into 1/4” spacers or something.

Thanks for the input, I think I’m going to install the full pack and take a leaf out later if need be. Did you have any vibes with this setup? What did you do to remedy those vibes of you had any?

I have a slight shudder at take off. I have no vibrations driving at all though. I have done the ECGS bushing in the drivers side front diff and shimmed my carrier bearing beforehand though.

I may try playing around with the shimming the carrier bearing again since I changed the suspension to see if maybe that’s the takeoff shudder or maybe replace it, but from what’s I’m reading it’s a common problem with even stock Tacomas.

Just gunna chime in here, i only got maybe 2" out of my 887s, My BAMF skids seem to have sagged the front end alot more than i would have thought.

Hub-to-Fender is a cunthair over 22". Ordered some 1/4" top plate spacers in hopes to give me a little bump.
