Anyone has any ideas or have done any modifications to their setup I just need some ideas and maybe pictures. Make the questions short just seems there’s is not enough room from roof to prinsu rack even with small hands it’s hard to tighten the RTT to the prinsu bc of the lack of room. Any ideas???

Pull two bars and attach to tent off the vehicle. Then lift on as one combined unit and screw the bars in. That’s what I’ve done with best results.

Check out my build thread (Beginning of Money Pit)
id keep those pre mounted bars alttile loose, itll be easier to move them around if you fudged up the measurement

Here are some pics. We were at Calico last week, sorry that one is kind of dark. We were going to go to Pismo this weekend but it was going to be too cold for the kids at the beach so we changed our plans and we're going to Castaic Lake instead. I'll get some more pictures with it set up there. I just added a Rhino Rack awning so I'll get some pictures of that along with a bed tent.

How is this working so far? I think my setup is rather similar, a Prinsu Cabrac on A.R.E. CX shell and I just mounted my first RTT but mounting it up was a pain since I assumed I should attach on the slats that are attached to the mounting feet, since the other ones seem flexxy. But mounting on the feet slats means the RTT rail bolts are very hard to reach in from ends of RTT bc of the Prinsu slim profile.

Hey. I actually just got back this afternoon from Big Bear. Stayed out the for 3 nights. It's been working great. I bought 2 extra prinsu bars and mounted the RTT to them. My wife and I can pick up the RTT and put it up there, slide it over and then I just screw on the 8 torx screws. I haven't had any problems with it but then again I don't do any serious off roading.

I just picked up a new RTT and the owner of the shop said he's seen many tents mounted on Prinsu racks. He would never recommend mounting to any bars that aren't attached to the mounting feet. He said the other bars should be thought of as additional stability bars and that's it.

The problem I'm noticing now is that my tent rattles against the two end crossbars since they tend to bounce when hitting bumps. I even have the extra stability connectors and they see till bounce.

I drilled a small hole and put a small lock in 2 of the 4. I’ll try and get a pic later
