Just goes to show every oven is different. First tried 285 for 15 then another 10 minutes, still no go. Finally tried 300 for 10 and it pulled apart. But the hardest part so far has been cleaning out that permaseal. I ordered a set of Depo head/tail lights during the ebay 15% off sale last week. Now I can take my time with these and maybe sell them when done.

I feel your pain! I had the same issue on my replacement light. I ended up using a razor blade and cutting it off. It will leave a tiny layer on the lens but you will not see it after your seal it back up.

Question for y’all that have rgb halos or are retrofitters...the profile prism rgb halos come with a ground and a turn signal wire to tap into the factory turn signals....
Since the power/ground controller wires are short I had to stick the controller near the battery. Now one of the turn signal wire won’t reach the passenger side to tap into...
Should I get longer wire to extend it? Or can I tap into the fuse box and use an add-a-fuse? Everything else I’ve got down, just need opinions. Also, will the rgb controller draw a lot of power if I just connect to the battery? Want to be able to control the lights while the truck is off.

Yeah I may try that. I messed up the housing a good bit getting it apart lol going to be doing some plastic welding. The first came apart so much easier. Blew my mind how different they were

This was the same oven. I think my driver side light was just permasealed wrong or something idk. Cleaning it out of the first one sucked but luckily it was all in the channel. I got it out with needle nose pliers it worked pretty good. This second light is going to suck though, scared to touch the lense on accident.

You can put painters tape all over the outside to help from scratches and give you something to hold onto. Just not the inside.

Here is an overview of my BHLM:

First light went in the oven at 280F for 10 min. Had it apart in 20 min. No problems, all permaseal stayed on the channel. Took around an hour to remove with pliers and a flat head.

Second light same procedure but the light didn't budge. Put temp up to 300 F for 10 min and it still would barely budge. Even using the Morimoto separating pliers. This temp was hot enough to begin melting the plastic that was supporting the light on the bottom (touching cookie sheet). I wrapped these parts in aluminum foil to stop them from melting further. After MANY times in the oven at 300 and a ton of pulling I got it apart. Total time around 3 hours. Permaseal all over the lense and some in the channel. Cleaned the channel out and scraped all I could off of the lense with a razor.

Next, I painted and Installed the 80mm Morimoto switch back.

Resealed with butyl and went to put the lights back in. I used silicone around the edges of the lens to ensure it was water tight, because the channel was messed up in a lot of places. First light installed no issue. The second light was slightly deformed from heat. Could not get the bottom slide clip in or the clip to line that connects the light to the grille. I said the hell with it the screws and side bolt will hold it for now. Wired up the halo, but still, haven't got it to come on (White wire to side marker power wire, orange wire to blinker power, ground to bolts around lights.) I tested the lights before and they were fine but no luck so far.

In the end, I have to say I would not recommend this mod unless you are very confident you can do it, and you have the time. I only had the weekend so it was a constant rush to get the truck back together for work on Monday. If both lights would have been sealed the same I would totally recommend it, but there is no guarantee of that. I admit I regret doing this mod to my new lights lol. I will be removing the lights ASAP and buying DEPO lights.

Almost the same experience I had.

Whoever sealed the passenger side went all out with the sealant and I'm experienced at retrofits. My hands are pretty roughed up.

Almost to the end. I love how the orange strips just glow from the HID. And it's not even lighted up yet. More pics to come this weekend.

Update: I finally got my halos to work. I didn't have either ground tight enough. The job I did on the lights is beginning to grow on me; I may just use my heat gun to bend my misaligned tabs back out and leave these lights on the truck. We had rain all last night and so far I am not seeing any water or condensation in the lights, but time will tell.

Where is everyone putting the extra wire from the ballast wiring harnesses? There is so much extra wire and soon I will have 4 ballasts. Thinking of something like Meso console buckets on each side, or similar custom box? I just like clean wiring and dont want to splice the harnesses. Thanks

Finishing up this project finally, lots of trial and error with the DRLs before just settling on the Diode Dynamics board again. I wanted it to be super blacked out, but still functional so that people could actually see my turn indicators so I put in a KC Cyclone light in the turn bucket. Pretty happy with how it turned out, just gotta finish up a few minor wiring details and then they'll be ready to seal back up and put on the truck!

That turned out real well. Turn is bright enough you dont need the chrome. What projectors are you running?

How did it work blacking out the turn signal bucket? Do you get any reflection at night or is that led bright enough?

Thanks man! Running RX350s for the low/high beams then just some Acme Supers for the 2nd projector which is high beam only.

I haven't tried them out at night just yet but I'll let you know

those KC ‘s are sweet. I love the all black. I wonder if this Black reflective vinyl would work in the turns or if it only reflects white light?

Anyone know which color wires for the DRL are which? Black is ground obviously, but can't remember if orange or red are the DRL or marker respectively. I had it straight a while ago but didn't write it down
