It is just the pads shifting up and down. Going forward, pads grab the rotor and clunk up. Going reverse, pads grab the rotor and clunk down. Over bumps they slop up and down just due to inertia. I could grab the pads and wiggle them up and down and hear the clunk. No more clunks now.

I found a guy on Etsy that prints them for ~$35. The 4Runner badge works on 2nd gen sport grilles.

This is a "feature" of floating brake pads, the older the pads get the more they move because they aren't as tight on the pins and create slop from repeated floating back and forth. This is a common sound on Tacomas when flipping from forward to reverse or vise versa.

Thanks man! Kinda sticking to a silver and black theme. Couldn’t pass on the canopy- found it online for $300 and snagged it just in time!

So far, yes. It locks which is a huge plus, and I already have the rear suspension for the additional weight so I’m good there too. And my wife doesn’t hate it so there’s that too.

This exactly what I'm experiencing. I figured it was brakes since it only happens once each way after shifting. Thanks! Looks like I'll add it to the maintenance list.

I worked in car audio for a few years and really came to love the Kappa series. Plus they're 2ohm which means i'll be getting the most out of the amp i'm putting in soon for these guys. They really need to be properly amped and not run off the head unit. Im using these adapters as well for the front doors:

Hooked up a small 4x8 trailer to move a friend down to Charlottesville VA from Akron Ohio this weekend. 800lbs empty and probably put in another 400lbs worth of stuff. Pulled really easy on the highway and managed 16.5 on the first tank and 16.25 on the second tank. Not too shabby going through hills.

How did you cut your lines without cutting the paint under it? Curios.
