This is a good thread! Lots of good discussion here. I'm also deciding between 2" or 3" to both front and rear (I want to keep the factory rake because i'll be carrying some gear on the bed. I'm really interested in the OME 2" kit.

Understand. I have been pricing the factory Fox Pro 1” lift and it is $$. They all are but this is +1.

This forum and facebook will have You beleive you cant do shit for wheeling without a full fox or Ikon suspension. Just ask around.

Reality...5100's and an AAL ... or add 887's into the mix. After that buy a rubicon... (.. running away fast)

I'm probably about the same as you, 80% on road, 20% off. I have a cabin in the mountains where most of the roads are dirt fire and gas well access roads which is where most of my offroad will occur. Maybe an occasional trip on some easy trails but nothing serious . And yes the look is definitely part of it but i also wanna put some 32" tires on it too. I just didnt want to necessarily cheap out with spacers/blocks if spending more money will be better in the long run. Anyone have any input on negatives of spacers/blocks? Would they affect the performance of the stock suspension in anyway?

Can I ask another question since we’re talking about lifting a 2019? I’ve heard it talked about that 3rd gens are already 1” higher than previous generations. I’m assuming this is the body and not the clearance. If I install a 2.5” lift, then am I netting 3.5” and therefore need to worry about UCAs and other issues or am I still only going 2.5” above factory?

It's still 2.5 inches above factory but now 3.5 inches above a 2nd gen that's at factory height.

You started +1 compared to the 2nd gen so that remains. You're at 0 when compared to other 3rd gens so it's only 2.5 inches up.

Raising clearance means raising the diff, that means taller tires.

So factory, a 3rd gen should be able to clear larger tires stock? And I get the benefit of a higher lift as compared to a 2nd gen without stressing the other components as much?
I owned a 2007 until 4 months ago, so now I’m trying to catch up with what I can expect.

Just remember the 3rd gen is heavier too so springs may settle more so what you use to raise a 2nd gen may take more effort if using the same thing to raise a 3rd gen.

Using the same thing to raise both is where you see the inch add or subtract, model specific is where you see the gains.

    Thank you. That’s very helpful.

What about the complete fox 2.0 front leveling struts up to 2” and the rear shocks I’m not sure if they add any height or not

Hypothetically, if money wasn't an issue, what would be your dream setup for something you can take off-roading and then still use as a daily driver (no real commute). A setup that could pretty much do anything; very versatile on and off the road.

    Suspension: http://iconvehicledynamics.com/shop...ma-0-275-suspension-system-stage7-billet.html
Tires: 33-35" BF Goodrich K02, or Falken Wild Peak (lots of added work to make 35's a reality seems like)
Rims: Option with a -12 offset
    Gears: Nitro Gears 5.29 https://www.nitro-gear.com/Toyota-Tacoma-Nitro-Gear-Package-p/gptaco2016-8.75-select.htm

Watching the videos of running 35's will definitely scare most people away, but if you want to run them it's possible, just be ready to do some irreversible customization.

    What else?
