Trying to figure out where to mount camera on front.

Bought the camera designed to go into the toyota emblem - thinking it should go in a round space in the chickenwire - but I don't think so...

    Heres the grill:
    IMG_20190403_103115.jpg
Should I put it on the bottom of the grill surround trim - just take it off and drill a hole - or put it under the license plate holder:

    TYIA!

My camera is like the second one you posted. I flipped the mount around so the wings faced forward. That will sit on a lip on the back of the grill where you see my camera is. I then epoxied it.

I did all of this with the grill removed and the camera not in the mount. I spent a few days driving around with just the ring mounted to let it cure:

I got a dumb question - I looked at the wingy camera and how do you know which way is up? It does not appear to be marked - you just rotate the B once it is in?

You would not even know you have a camera there, looks great, does that just plug into your Entune radio?

Thanks! Yes, it goes back to the head unit where this device is installed inline with some of the cables that go to the head unit: https://car-solutions.com/en/rfcc-ttg2-car-camera-control-system-for-toyota-touch-2-entune.php

With this installed, pressing the MODE button on the steering wheel brings up the front camera, then hitting the down arrow switches to the read camera. You can switch back and forth at any time using the arrows. Hitting the MODE button (or 30 seconds of inactiving) makes the head unit go back to whatever it was showing before. This does not interfere with anything that is currently playing on the head unit.

It also has another input that I believe would allow a third camera.

So is this kit and a compatible front camera the only parts you need to have front and rear anytime camera video on the Entune head unit using the steering wheel Mode switch and up/down buttons?

For my install all I needed was the Car Solutions module, the camera off of Amazon and some 18 gauge wire:

Thanks! I have a kit made by a fellow TWer who may even still be selling them, but I never got around to installing it. It adds a rocker switch to the switch cluster left of the steering wheel. While I'm sure it would be fine, I really like that fact that this module utilizes steering wheel controls. It's a great idea.

No problem! That was my main draw to doing it this way.

The most intimidating part was pulling the head unit and seeing the ~13 connections you have to remove on the back. However, since every plug is different, it all turned out to be really simple. I did it alone but having someone there to support the head unit when you are hooking wires up would help a lot.

An extra set of hands sounds like a good idea. Now all I need to do is take a look at the front camera I already have from the other kit to see if it will work with this module. I can't imagine that it wouldn't.

What kit you fellas using? Considering this mod. Also do the reverse lights turn on when you turn on when driving?

This module, a camera and some wire are the components; not a kit:

    https://car-solutions.com/en/rfcc-ttg2-car-camera-control-system-for-toyota-touch-2-entune.php
    https://www.amazon.com/dp/B018800TR2

No, reverse lights only come on when the truck is in reverse.
