For better pics, don't include the light source in the photo, as it will make the camera appature close more causing the photo to be artificially dark. I'd suggest taking one facing the same way as the lens to capture the output.

 

Side to side is great. Front to back, I would only complain that it doesn't hit the front of the bed well. However, that is true of most cargo lights, so it is on par with OEM lights. I'm very pleased with it overall.

 

Yes, it will be very hard to get light coverage closer to the cab due to the degree. The LED boards are angled down as far as possible to help with this..but there is only so much that can be done with the original placement of the brake light.
You should tie them off the dome light with a 3 way switch.

 

I ran mine to a switch by the fog light switch.

 

That was my plan, that way when you remotely unlock the vehicle you get the additional light on.

 

I have some 4Runner side mirrors with puddle lamps that I will be tying in there.

I never thought of doing it that way, but I would if I could find a 3-way switch that fits in one of the slots in the dash.

That appears to be a larger switch than any found in the 2nd gen trucks

I think I might have found a switch that will fit in a 2nd gen dash. It is from an 07-09 Tundra. I went ahead and bought a Tundra dash piece with several switches in it, including the 3 way switch. I can sell the parts off and recover my money if it doesn't work out. I'm hoping to get most of my money back even if it does work out

I don't make these anymore. I have move onto an entire new brake housing replacement. There is a new thread called SUPER ultimate brake light

if anyone has one of these, I'd pay a pretty penny for one. just cracked the housing on my stock cover last night.
