    Go with NAPA brand axles from their stores next time....they are also much less money than OEM and with lifetime warranties, and much better quality than the other parts store's brands.

    I've also had good luck with the FEQ axle I put in last time I needed to swap them. It's held up well for about 6 months now.

    It's normal for non OEM axles to have boot issues that quick into life span. The lifetime warranty means you get to swap a new set in every year you own it for the rest of your ownership period.:thumbsup:

    Just saw this post, did you have a successful outcome? If so, what did you end up doing?
    I have the same issue on both sides and also had an OME lift in the front...

    Is there a way to get grease back into the boot without taking the boots off? I'm wanting to just take my trouble clamps off, replace the lost grease, and then install new clamps... to I just squeeze a grease gun and squeeze some up in there?

    Also is there specific grease??

    Yeah, it eventually tore a big hole in it lol. I swapped in some CVJ remans with the high angle boots, and one of them also tore. I’m gonna do a diff drop.

    bumping again... I remember on the my 3rd 4runner, I was able to cut the old hose clamp, stretch it, and install new European hose clamps(by design they do not tear into the surface) and I was able to do this still on the truck....

    Can this be done with axels still on the truck?

    Does anyone have a link to 1/4" wide hose clamps for the new boot at the now slightly more narrow portion of the axle? Timmy used a ziptie but I don't think that will hold up over time.

    Yeah I tried that. I still ended up blowing a FB boot. I’d have to go back in my records to see how many miles it was before tearing the boot. After I tore the boot I had no choice but to replace the boot so I just did this mod and it seems like o be holding up for longer than with other methods

    Both sides have the boot slide mod but now this happened, and the clamp busted off the other side of the truck and split the end of the boot.
