I swapped the connectors and the one that worked fine still worked fine and the one that sukd still sukd so I wiggled it and had an aha moment when it came off in my hand.

Part number for a 2012 with steering wheel audio controls, phone, etc. is what? I’m going try one of the $15 ones off Amazon and want to make sure it’s the right one.

    I’m seeing 843060E010, correct?

Just say no to the Dielectric Grease. It is a non-conductor of electric current

Going to bump this up since i just realized this morning my horn doesn't work.
I have noticed my stereo control lights have been intermittent depending how the wheel is turned.

Im assuming these 2 issues are related to the spiral cable? Ill test and check fuses when i have time but the horn and control lights are too coincidental. May be safe to say it is the spiral cable?

Horn not working. :annoyed: Well....it works about a 1/3 of the time I try.
The radio controls do work. Just ordered a new relay to pop in there.
Hoping I don't have to rip the steering wheel apart but....:angrygirl:

Check the wires that plug in at the horn. I bet they are corroded.

I bet you are right. Going to check those today when I get my e brake working.
The salt use was out of control this winter. I have no doubt that is the cause of my issues.

    Alright.....
    so.....
    Connections look clean.
Did a little experiment by turning the steering wheel to the left and to the right. Guess what.....?
    Horn works.
The only place it does not work is when it is centered. :annoyed:
Clock spring is what I am thinking. Thought I saw a post on replacing that

    there it is:

I am seeing that too. Notice in the thread I posted above that the later years were added, maybe.
    Will call the stealership tomorrow.

    edit:
Checked out by VIN, no recall.

Make sure you get the correct one for your truck. One is for trucks without steering wheel stereo controls and different one for with stereo controls.

I am pretty sure I have the correct one, but did notice there were two choices. One seemed to have less cables in the diagram and was about $100 cheaper. Both show that they fit the truck I have.
The more expensive one seems to be the one I have seen people replacing.

There are more wires for the one with steering wheel stereo controls.
