Also - mine is a second gen - I just figured I’d post here instead of creating ANOTHER diagnosis thread.

Only thing I can think of is did you torque the LCAs with the truck under its own weight? It’s a PITA but it’s technically the correct way on all OEM bushings. They don’t have a free range of motion like polyurethane bushings do.

I did do that. I’m going to keep on it and report back anything that works...

I know it’s going to be something stupid & simple.

Well, I’ve tightened everything I can think of... still clunking - turning right about 20mph when the weight shifts. Any chance it could be my front shock needs rebuilt - there are no signs of leaks.

Same problem here. Noticed it about 2 weeks ago after the truck was in to have the oil changed and AC inspected (low coolant). They didn't rotate the tires.
The clunk happens semi regularly, usually when turning also. Definitely notice it when pulling into/out of parking spaces or the driveway.

Well, figured mine out. Leaf spring bushing, drivers side. The most forward one hence feeling it under my floorboard. I was able to make it stop temporarily, but I will need to replace them to fix it permanently.

Thanks to @EatSleepTacos posting that they need to be torqued with no weight on the springs. Wouldn’t have known that.

Hell yeah man, I'm happy you finally figured it out. I bet that's a huge help to your sanity.

I thought I would post my question here as it seems to be the similar thread with the newest date. I have searched and gotten into some non-conclusive loops.

My 2019 OR makes popping noises when the Suspension articulates beyond what is normal on pavement. I’m brand new to owning a 4wd and the noise I hear may well be normal. It is easy to replicate and sounds like maybe sway bar bushings or even something else that could be “normal”.
I am wet behind the ears so don’t hesitate to fill me in. This was the first time needing to really have to use 4wd but we did several sections. All of it, public road. The truck has 1000 miles. Grandson providing commentary. I never changed any setting, just paused to look out the window and started again. I’m not sure why that worked. We had fun. Very nearly had to break out the recovery gear for the Sequoia...

Any rubber bushings (which is all oem bushings) you want to torque them down at ride height (weight of the truck on them). Rubber bushings have limited rotation in either direction, which is why you do that. If you torque them at droop, once you go to stuff them, they’re really being stressed and can kill them prematurely, make lovely noises, etc.

With polyurethane bushings (what comes on pretty much all aftermarket suspension) this isn’t an issue. The metal sleeve that the bolt passes through rotates freely in the bushing. You can torque these down however you please.

My recommendation, is to loosen the bolts that pass through any rubber bushings (UCA, LCA, Leaf springs), jump around on the truck, and torque them down (again, at ride height)

I appreciate that input, it makes sense. My truck is totally stock, as delivered by the dealer. If any real problems pop up I don’t want to have done anything to let them tell me it’s because of what I did. This was on a public road so not even “off-road” :)

When I would turn the wheel from full crank left to right I would hear a small popping sound. As stated above retorque LCA bolts no fix. Retorqued the rack and pinion it was loose. I installed the energy suspension bushing and I under torqued the frame bolts. At first I felt like the bolts were going to snap since I would keep cranking and it wouldn't feel like it's getting any tighter, but if you wedge the wrench and continue to tighten it will eventually torque. The bushing probably has some play to get fully seated when tightening. Also did the zip tie trick, oh man does the steering wheel feel way tighter.
