I have been able to close it with the windows shut using the sit on the corners technique. I think half the problem is getting leverage while standing on the tailgate. Now if I could push down with my whole body it might be a different story.
Of course I normally leave the side windows open when closing. Do you leave the rear window open too? I've tried a number of variations.

This afternoon’s project. $40 dog barrier from Amazon. 4- hose clamps and a cut up bicycle inner tube to protect the powdercoat. It’s rock solid. Only thing that took some time was welding up the backer plates for the quick fists to mount to.E032EF11-8E4F-49DE-825E-A4E3DDB439CF.jpgA500D9AD-35BD-4AA8-B981-CCDFF9A9278A.jpg 8F48A410-318B-493C-8FAE-064BDBB81F3C.jpg532E6483-D4C9-435D-A7CC-61896866B9EE.jpg

No emoticon for tears? Anyways, life throughs a curveball at you sometimes. Unfortunately for us we are selling the rig.

Thank you TW, Thank you GFC, Hope to be back soon!

This has all been wonderful, but now we're on our way...

Good luck to any interested... Selling the two separately, will make a deal to anyone who wants both.

Made the trek to Bozeman this week and picked up the camper. Was a quick install and then we headed to Yellowstone.

Yeah, at the shop they had to help me. They closed it and got one side locked, then I wanted to do the other side and I couldn't, then the shop guy did and he had a slightly hard time but was able to. So if the shop has a hard time, it's not me doing it wrong. Now that I've opened a few times and figured out leverage, it is getting better.

    It's a Ford! 2018 F150 SCAB, 4WD, 3.5 EB, locking rear diff. 2072# payload.
I'm doing a light build out. Presently, its virtually stock. I have a full set of RCI skid plates that I haven't installed yet. I plan to get some off road tires and perhaps replace the 20" wheels with 17" or 18" ones. It's my daily driver and work vehicle. I'm now working on the camping setup.

There's nothing wrong with that. I am actually envious that your rear door windows go down.

If they still built them with an MT, I would have considered one.

    Enjoy!

Yep, no hate here. I’d kill for an Eco Boost on my 3.5 Tacoma engine!

So far so good with the Eco Boost. It has more power than I need and has gobs of low RPM torque. I can cruise over 6000' mountain passes, uphill @1300 RPM. I probably would've been happy with the 2.7 but this was in the lot and I got a good deal. I'm also getting very good mileage for a 370HP engine with 470 lb ft torque. It doesn't notice the GFC in the back.

Anyone have any better contact info for gfc? Mine is now complete and am eager to pick it up as I have time off but have not been able to get anyone to confirm that I can pick it up and I'm not sure I'll be able to pick it up after my time off. I've waited so long I just want my camper.

We camped on the Gallatin River near Yellowstone the first night. Had to just crash after making the ten hour drive through the night. Awesome area though but we ran into a ton of closed gates in the National forest that won’t be open until the end of the month.

Was there a lot of snow up there? Wondering if I should bring my skis for some touring.

There was a decent amount, mostly higher elevations. I would bring them for sure though!

Mine was complete on Monday, and it took 1.5 days to hear back to schedule my install. Talk about a true test of my patience! Hang in there, though, as they will respond.

    All,

A bit of local insight for Bozeman this time of year. Fun can be found in pretty much any direction from town. Mountains are still adding snow pack but the valleys are drying out. Fly fishing is on! A few popular areas include:
    • Lower Madison River (below Bear Trap Canyon) - Great camping, hiking, Norris Hot Springs, and trout fishing
    • Upper Madison - Great camping, views, and trout fishing
    • Copper City Trails - Great mountain bike optimized trail network (cross country, technical, and downhill) and camping, awesome views
    • Bridger Bowl - Ski area closed for the season, good spring skinning, can probably camp in parking lot, avalanche danger up high
    • Big Sky Resort - Expensive ski pass but worth it
    • Gallatin Canyon - Trails, floating, and fishing, camping is tough due to closures, should lift soon
    • Lewis and Clark Caverns - Great mountain biking, camping, and hiking
    • Paradise Valley - Google it, Boiling River
    • Outlaw Brewing (Bozeman) - Great beer
    • Bridger Brewing (Bozeman) - Great pizza
    • Storm Castle Cafe (Bozeman)- Great breakfast
    • Copper (Bozeman) - Great burger
    • Dave's Sushi (Bozeman) - Trust it
Do a little research and you will find some great things to do. We are picking our camper up in the next couple of weeks for our 05 Tundra four door. Have not seen one yet. Pumped! See you out there!
