It almost looks like the smooth side of the belt is running on a ribbed surface.

I'm really not sure. It just looked like I should ask.

I'll double check my routing. Crashnburn and I put it on. If it was wrong I'm sure one of us would have seen it.

    I fully understand bro!
Just materials cost me between $300 and $400 and I could knock these out in half the time if I didnt care what the finished product looked like. I just cant bring myself do FASTER work at the cost of quality.
This whole thing started as a way to improve my skills doing something I enjoy while providing something unobtainable to people for a very reasonable. You would likely agree if you saw how much time I spend in these when I build them.

    Cheers!

@12TRDTacoma ,@Roostfactor belt routing appears fine. Not my level of mild tension on the jfr belt wrap and the matching stripe mark on the pulley under it. Does that tell anything. Btw, stock tensioner still.20190421_144324.jpg

Little to do with my Tacoma, aside from the fact that it also benefited from the nice BOOST weather that finally arrived in CO last week. (It made driving the Shelby to work even more enjoyable...)

You are good my man. My belt looks weird like that too. As long as the inside does not show cracking you're good to go.

And that is why I will have no qualms spending the $$ when I can for the y-pipe. I love me some quality work. Keep up the good work!

I agree. I’d love the equal length pipe but $700 CAD down with $700 CAD to go at some unknown point in the future for my truck where the gains wouldn’t probably be noticeable is something I’ll wait on. Not that I think it should be cheaper, I get the cost of something done right and done well by hand, but it’s just not the mod on my list that will return bang for buck for me right now so other things will come first.

Besides the stock TRD supercharger, I do have an AFE stage 2 CAI. I'm not looking to go full on crazy, just want to switch things up since I have everything off.

So you recommend the 2.8? If I was to look for one, where would you recommend me finding one?

Sounds fair to me! Let me get this upgraded pulley situation and etc. I will for sure be reaching out you.

Okay, so you have the intake, you now need the pulley and I would strongly sugges tthe fuel pump to keep up with the blowers fuel pressure and volume demand.

A 2.8... that is up to you. Pulleyboys will give you a black anodized pulley with some ugly writing on it, and smoothflow will give you a silver pulley, blank, but it just sucks because a nice black pulley would be nice is all. It's your choice really man. Smoothflows pulley setup is cheaper priced, I will say that.

Is there a solid reason to go with the URD fuel pump upgrade kit with the external filter, or would y'all recommend just doing an AEM 320 upgrade on it's own? It would be $100 more for the URD kit over just the pump off Amazon.

My two cents is mostly opinion but the URD kit comes with a removable filter and all the hardware, including fuel rated electrical connectors, that you won’t get with just the pump off of Amazon. I thought the kit was pretty well laid out and the instructions clear, easily worth the extra cash. I ended up just going with the DW pump though since I’m not going to be going beyond a 2.8” pulley and tune so the AEM was overkill for my purposes.

The DW isn't enough pump for smaller than a 2.8?

I only bought the 255 GPM version which is plenty. I’m not sure where it would start to stumble. I think the 320 GPM AEM version is recommended because it’s ethanol compatible and has more flow headroom if you’re going to push the engine until it explodes :p. For me the 255 is plenty.

The only pump I wouldn’t recommend is the Walboro. It’s fine mechanically but it’s quite loud. I helped install one in a local FJ and you can actually hear it prime in the cab which sucks if you decide to camp near the truck lol.

The 320 will provide enough headroom for all of your future impending mods even after you say you are done, that is why I'm saying that folks should get the AEM one or the Aeromotive 340, because if you're going to cry, it should only be once.

Just the way I've always seen it.

I believe there is a 320 GPM DW available from URD now too.

I love how quiet the 255 GPM DW pump is, quieter than stock which is a pretty amazing feat of engineering.

Well crap, cause I put the DW255 in a few years ago. So what is the limit of the 255? Can I go 2.7?
