Since he clearly has a liking for my products sawed in half, he could technically buy that and make the core into Ti radio knobs. Just sayin ....

So I am wondering if you have any advice on how to buff out some minor scratches. I took my truck to get some work done and I guess whoever was driving had a ring on and kept banging the knob. Now there are a few minor marks that are starting to bug me. If I had done it that is one thing, but it was someone else.

Usually the maroon very-fine scotch-brite seen here can take care of the minor stuff. This will only work if the surface is just shined/burnished by the ring, but if there is depth you would likely need to do more.

Next level would be emery to remove something deeper and I wouldn't go any more coarse than 240 grit on aluminum. For more serious nicks a needle file set would be the way to go, but then you would also need to use the 240 emery and scotch brite to finish.

My usual time is about 5 weeks and I began on 4/22, so about 5/27 I would say.

My favorite mountain bike was titanium. I REALLY LIKE titanium. I've looked at Rick post on that Ti shift knob about 50 times. I know it would look and dare I say feel FANTASTIC on my 5 speed regular cab. It's been up for sale for a long time and I know I'm going to kick myself when it sells to someone else. He Rick would you be willing to do a layaway with monthly payments?

I got a Ti axle nut for my motorcycle. The weight difference is shocking. The world should be Ti and CF.

Layaway, nah that practice would inevitably go wrong for me ... gotta steer clear.

The only Ti part for that knob is the inner core, which would probably have to be swapped out for you as that is the 3rd Gen only configuration. I could adapt it to 2nd Gen pretty easily though (which is probably moot considering it wouldn't have Ti anymore). The main knob part is hardened stainless.

Edit: Edited the sale post with more details as it was out of date to the OP
