The change from 4.10 to 4.56 is maybe at most 300rpm

    Makes sense.

I need to move somewhere that is downhill to and from work.

I still cannot even begin to process 58 MPG in a taco.

Whenever I choose a gear ratio , most rpm Gear ratio charts are color coded like for economy best mpg / daily driver and performance-power . I would always choose a gear ratio that offers the most power !!!

If the Ring and Pinion are used, you shouldn't need any break in period. IIRC, that is only if you are installing a brand new non REM polished set of R&P gears.

I have 4.30 gears, 295/70/17 tires and I get between 14-16 mpg and that’s even calculating the 8% difference.

Is this your first gear setup? Only asking because it is very skilled and detailed work, not just shade tree work.

So what's the verdict? Are you satisfied with the 4:10 gear ratio on 33s? Looking to do tha same set up & just stumbled in this thread. Does it feel like stock again?

it felt better and mpg went up. the stock gears are back in due to a 4x4 conversion.

You must have some really heavy tires/wheels! That's very low MPG. I'm going for P rated 285 / 70 17 tires

Something isn't right with your truck. I'm running the same tire size and get the same mileage dragging this around...
