I currently have two issues driving me crazy on my brand new Taco.

One is the rumble strip vibration while slowing down and the other is steering wheel vibration or a "buzz" feeling.

As far as the steering wheel vibration, I know for a fact it is not brakes because when I am crusing on the highway and I feel it, I put it on N and it goes away. It's also not tires related as I had them road force balanced and I've rotated them myself to see if there's any change. Check and double checked lug nuts are tighten to spec as well.

Also, when at a red light I can feel the vibration in the steering wheel as the RPMs surge back and fourth.

As far as the rumble strip, I took it in to the dealership Thursday and they agreed it's there and it isn't normal, yet told me their hands are tied because they don't know how to proceed and are waiting for Toyota to advise them. They had it two days and did nothing.

The thing is, I can live with the rumble strip, but the steering wheel vibration is driving me nuts.

I have a case opened with Toyota and I should hear back Monday.

I've read through pages of complaints here for the same thing and haven't really been able to find anyone who had theirs fixed.

My question is, has anyone here had this problem and actually had it fixed by Toyota? If so what was the fix?

    I appreciate it guys. Thanks

Good luck but if you have taken it to the dealer and read all the posts here, what do you expect now?
Wait on Toyota and good luck.

Does it have any mods or is it completely stock?

Only thing I did was switch to the TRD OR rims/tires. But had these issues before the switch.

If you’re moving at some speed, let’s say 70mph and you feel vibrations, then put it in neutral and no vibrations, then your drive shaft is either out of balance or angles are off. If you have not lifted the truck, then ask the dealer to check the driveshaft balance. If you have lifted your truck, then you need to get a digital angle finder out and check angles. 2WD and 4WD have different driveshafts, and u joints, so you’ll need to do some reading on angles. 2WD is very simple measurement, but 4WD is more complicated due to the split driveshaft.
The put it in neutral while moving and no vibrations eliminate wheel balance. Assuming I’m understanding your description correctly.

You should have 3 degree shims from the factory (see red circle in pic) that should be sitting on top of the spring perch and under the spring (see red arrow) I’m running 1.5 blocks in the photo so you won’t have that. I can tell you when I added the blocks I left the shims out and had what you described...put the shims back in no issues. The shims are small maybe 1/4 inch tall at the rear and taper to nothing towards the front of the truck at first glance they look like they are part of the spring

Sorry. I thought I saw sport somewhere in your description of the problem. Must have been the other thread I am giving advice in.
