Yaw and pitch is monitored for those systems. The sensors are detecting a issue at the steering being out of alignment with the tires.

Right now it will until the codes are cleared.

 

Pitch? Based on what? Acceleration? I'm asking where the conflicting data comes from? Steering input yeah, but there's no input for wheel position?

 

Maybe I didn’t explain myself well. It knows the truck is moving forward via the motion/yaw sensor. If the truck is moving forward, but your wheel is turned sideways, it thinks the truck is skidding (IE not following your steering wheel input)

 

Is there an accelerometer input?

 

No there is not, but it knows the direction of travel. That is one of the ways VSC works. It looks for situations where the direction of travel and the steering wheel input do not match.

 

Yes. It’s a yaw sensor. Same as in your IPhone. Cheap tech these days.

Yeah man! Sometimes I'll start a convos only half knowing, then it forces me to wrap my head around the whole concept.

 

Any idea on that might cost?

 

I think there is mention of it in this thread... I want to say around 1200 bucks for that nose sensor and recalibration. Don't take that to the bank though.

Resetting VSC is standard procedure after an alignment. If your shop is not doing it, you're not getting a proper alignment service.

 

Oh it does, the same on my 2013 after I replace my steering rack, wheel was off center, truck knew, light went on. After I re-centered. Reset the ODB, and it was fine
