OEM All Weather Floor Mats for 2001-2004

Hey all, I recently bought an '04 Xtracab Prerunner with the TRD Off Road package and an automatic transmission. Question: did Toyota make all weather mats for 2001-2004 Tacomas? I have been looking online and I see a lot of OEM carpet mats for sale, but no all weather mats. I know that a lot of you are partial to Weathertechs and Husky mats, but they're a bit overkill for my lifestyle, which is mostly transporting stuff in the city. I just want something low maintenance with a stock look. If you have pics, that would be helpful. If you know where I can buy a factory set, that would be even better! Thanks..

 

I have Husky's in my 04 DC. Overkill for me but the OEM were wearing out too fast and are so expensive. I am satisfied with them but not sure i would but them again. They keep the dirt and water in check but tend to slide forward and get under the accelerator peddle. If you are not used to that then the peddle feels stiff until you pull the mat back.

 

Yes they exist, but they’re rare and expensive.

Look into Weathertech AVM’s. They’re universal mats that are a little better than your generic rubber floor mat.

 

You don't want the OEM All Weather, even if you could find them (and yes, they'll be pricey). The driver's side had an issue where the middle section would shred and water, dirt and just about everything else would find its way into the carpet in the middle of the mat. Trust me, POS. I bought a set when I bought the truck in 2002, the driver side is wasted - passenger and rear for the doublecab are near perfect. Driver side was just crap imo.

The husky mats are the better choice. They have grippers that really hold it in place.

The weather techs do not have grippers at all and tend to slide about. Sure you could add velcro I guess but you shouldn't have to, especially at the coin they charge.

do you not have the safety clip (whatever its called) on the floor to hold the mat back?

where? do you know anywhere to find bluegray?
i have only been able to find tan oak

 

no clip. I do not think the style i have has a place for that.

 

You just have to get lucky and find a used set. They’re not very good floormats to begin with, the Weathertech or Husky ones are far better.

 

I’ve got both Weathertech all weathers and the floor liners. The all weathers we’re ok, didn’t slide much with my use. They just didn’t cover as much floor as I liked. When Weathertech reintroduced the floor liners last year I got a set. Not as “manly” looking as all weathers but catch and cover floor better.

 

I went through several sets of the OEM all weathers. Total garbage. As mentioned above, they wore out real quick. Got a hole in the driver side where my heel sits.

I have had Husky liners for a while now, totally satisfied.

 

seems husky may have shorted on their design? the catch hook does not actually grab the mat, just sits under it.

my weathertech never slide around, but then again the xtra cab version are more square, maybe the cuts for DC make them more prone to not hold?
