It is mathematics. If 91 is 20% more, you need 4 mpg more to break even = 23 mpg. If your 91 is 25% more, now you need a 5 mpg bonus, or 24 mpg. We are just talking cost efficiencies, agreed?

What will be fascinating is when you start experimenting with your trailer. It is entirely possible that 91 may put you at a disproportionate efficiency compared to truck alone. On the other hand, when you are traveling with your trailer you could hit a remote area that has one or two fill-up options and they are both gouging on high octane.

@Vlady where are you getting this "SOP"?

Straight from the service manual. See "2* Idle Learning:"

Correct. You can perform the reset with both techstream or Flash Manager. I only posted that to reference the idle learning procedure after the learned values have been reset. You can usually get away without doing it, but the procedure only take 5 minutes and will prevent any unintended surging at idle.

It's all good. I had some idle issue a while back and found the info on another thread. Sure enough, it took care of the surge.

This also says at least 9 volts. I dunno where everyone got at least 12 volts, I've flashed several times around 11.6 volts with no issues.

@OVTune will 1.05.1 be coming to 04B03 eventually?

Update your ECU to 04B04 and you won't have to wait as long when new tunes are released.

    Techstream + TSB = winning.

FYI I flashed and did the learning procedure yesterday and always ended up with a 600rpm idle on my auto, stopped 8-9 times.
Might try again some other time, seems to run fine though.

Mat has lowered the idle from factory, so no worries there. The idle learn procedure just making sure you get a smooth and consistent idle. Of course, you'll still get a surge when the A/C compressor kicks on, but that is normal.

Yea I figured, idle was ~600 from what I can recall before the reset. Been smooth as silk with the tune.

04B04 flash is pretty straightforward if you're up to it, I think it's better to be updated on B04 for future cool shit.

I gave up and did the 03-04 flash. Weird thing is the p5 flash would not work for me. I couldn't reset the LV or AT. Since i flashed 03 to 04. and flash the 1.051 it should have resetted right?

Thank you. I thought that idle learning only needed to be done if you cleared ECU/TCU values, which I didn't do this time because I figured there would be little difference between the similar tunes (1.05 93 performance vs 1.05.1 93 performance).
