Cleaned my MAF sensor and throttle body. Kind of alarmed at how dirty the tb was, I have to assume the PO had never cleaned it

 

Haven't heard of the double spring craze, what does it do?

 

Hit a milestone yesterday



And today I put in a new battery, since the old one wasn't holding a charge for more than 30 min

 

Just ordered CVJ Reman axles because mine are puking grease. Doing axle seals and ECGS bushing while its all apart. My alternator is also on its way out so I’m going to replace that as well and maybe idler pulleys too.

Finally got the fire extinguisher mounted up. Not 100% sure I like the location, but I think it covers most of the bases. Inboard so it won't get hit by trees, and on the driver's side rear for quicker access

 

One good thing about all of the construction speed limits, better MPG!

 

Speaking of mileage. I've got 285s, 4" lift, and supercharger with too many mods to count. I got 90 miles on a quarter tank with my new tune on a roadtrip. At 70+,mountain pass included. Wow, 400hp and almost 20mpg. Happy I am.

Regreased my Ome Dakar leaf spring shackle bolts and sleaves that were squeakier than a cheap motel bed in the throws of passion. Put the frame on Jack stands and drooped the leafs by lowering the floor jack. First and last time, it was a super pain in the butt to do it without a shop 2 post lift. The squeak is gone. Next week Durobump bump stops front and back.

 

Installed a light bar and full led lights on the girls 4runner. Adjusted my ditch lights, and gave it a wash.

 

Washed, claybar’d and waxed it today.



Finally pulled the clear film off the rear flares. Took a handful of beers to work up the balls to pull it off. I’ve been wanting to for the longest time, but was worried about what was underneath it.

Turns out the paint under it was fine after a little bit of polishing and some wax.

New rear shocks go on tomorrow.

 

This makes me wanna get a carpet dash mat NOW!

It’s pretty simple, get throttle body cleaner and MAF cleaner. Take off the stock air box so you can see the butterfly on the TB, then get a toothbrush and some rags and spray the cleaner and scrub away. Open the butterfly and scrub everything until clean. Then spray the MAF without touching it and let dry. Reassemble everything and start it back up. It more than likely wont start on the first time, it’ll sputter and die. Just try it again and it’ll crank right up.
