@SconnieHailer , since you were in this thread fairly recently...

Did you at one point have Dirt King UCA's? I know you're running their LCA's and I'm thinking I'll be going with them for UCA's and in the future their LCA's. Any negatives to them from your prespective if you do have experience with them?

Ah, he must've not updated his build thread then. Says he's running Desert Products UCA's.

ah. Yeah I think Gage has those now haha

Thought I had a photo of it when I welded up the spindles and LCAs but I don't have one of the whole setup. Its a dialed setup though.

Yeah, in the long run the price is pretty good when you total out the cost of both UCA and LCA. They have to match for my OCD

Unless he has drawbacks on them I'll probably be buying the bushing style uniball UCA's this week. And ADS coilovers of course :D

Id do the Soild mount lowers and Heims if you can. Just need to do your own alignment which is a bit of a bitch as you have to take the UCA on and off to adjust the heims. But once you get it. You're done. Never have to touch it again.

I wish I had went with heimed uppers. It's the way to go if you're going to be pushing your rig.

Not sure I want to drop $950 on a set right now.

Hmm, I need to look into how difficult and expensive it is to do my own alignments as well as getting the solid mounting done. Don't think I can do all of that right now though as that raises the total cost quite a bit.

Yeah same for my LT kit. Just no one that makes solid mount lower plate. Shouldn't be hard to fab your own though.

If i remember right..and Marc im sure will be here tonight to correct me, but I think he had LSK cut the solid mount plates for the LCAs. Thats cheap. The UCAs are the only thing thats more expensive. Doing your own alignment isn't too bad. Jason has a good write up on here in the technical section on how to DIY.

Yeah, I guess I wouldn't need an aftermarket LCA yet to be able to solid mount the LCA bolts, right?

That looks good but the TC is less complicated and easier to run a rectangle shaped piece for solid mounting the lower.

The dk lower and upper is great. Don't attempt solid mounting the lower unless you have the time to tinker with the alignment. It takes a while. And you end up running into small issues along the way that are truck specific due to all bodies not mounted the same on the frame. Also caster goes opposite now that you use the upper arm. So adding caster moves the wheel towards the firewall. Sourcing good bolts for your lower control arms is important too. Lsk did my tabs but anyone with a plasma or similar metal saw can make them. @Wishbone Runner made his.

Good to know. I think for now I might just go with bushing UCAs. Worse case I upgrade down the road to heimed uppers I guess. Just don't think I have the time right now to mess with welding things and playing with the alignment for hours.

Is that two performances combined into one? An outdoor performance for the video and a studio session for the audio?
