So found someone selling a used oem cover but I'm starting to second guess my possible purchase. Can't do a rail swap unfortunately bc he's got a cap on now. He sent me a pic of the hardware and does it look complete? I know I'd have to mod my rails but why does it look like it's missing something. I fear It won't be water tight :/ like isn't there plastic that goes over the connection points usually?20190522_234101.jpg

You're correct. There should be a plastic cover for each of those grey brackets with the pin sticking off.
More importantly to most people though, there should be two rubber blocks that "seal" the front of the bed and bed rail gap.
Dig around on here and you should be able to find on of the parts explosions to show what I'm talking about.

    Edit: here you go: https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/rubber-plugs-for-gaps-in-bed-rail-available-now.420884/

Thank you. I decided to pass and got the bakflip f1 instead just so I didn't need to cut anything. The truck is a lease and I figured between the 400 for the cover used then possibly having to get new bed rails in the future is just get that one since I got it on sale for like 843.00 :)

    Wise choice passing on it...

I sold my OEM less than 2 weeks after having it. Bought a Gator new on eBay for $219. No leaks and lightweight and easy to take off.
