Poll , how many New 2016 or 17 Tacoma buyers still have them .

Discussion in '3rd Gen. Tacomas (2016-2023)' started by Taco16LB, May 26, 2019.

?

Who stiill has the new 2016 or 17 Tacoma they bought ?

  1. I had a few TSB's done and am in for the long haul .

  2. I had to many problems and dumped it for a different brand .

  3. I had to many problems and dumped it for a newer year of the 3rd Gen Tacoma .

  4. I still can not decide to sell it or keep it .

  5. I know I want to get rid of it but am waiting for something better .

  6. Mine has been fine and why would this even be a poll ?

  7. I change vehicles at the end of a lease , so when it is up it is gone .

My 2017 will be two years old in a few weeks, and I haven't had a single issue with it. I'll drive it until either it dies, or I do.

Kings, 275/70/17, a few custom items, lots of Meso mods.
Few tsb's, new head unit, Free ECGS bushing install. Way too much money and time to let go. Even with a few minor issues very happy with truck. Entire interior removed for sound deadening so it's fairly quiet now. Still Have 3 other make vehicles bought new. an 87, 88, 98. Lol

Bought my ‘16 on Jan 4th 2016. Zero trips to dealer and only issue was replacing the battery which was likely due to the heat in Florida cooking it. 46,500 miles and going strong.

Sold. Unacceptable problems. Howling. Vibration. Transmission that is a literal joke amongst the auto world. Apologists on this forum not helping that...

Will stay away from post 2004ish toyota for rest of my life.

    Stock and staying that way
I bought my 2017 Limited in late 2016. It has almost 36k miles, and other than the battery failing has been perfect. No TSB's done. I expect it to be a good truck for a very long time. I plan to keep it for 8 years and 120k miles.

These questions are pretty poor. Where’s the option of trading/selling for another vehicle. Not just another brand. Traded in my 17 for a 06 Tundra and finally found the perfect truck. The tranny problems weren’t terrible but bad enough it wasn’t worth the crappy shifting for a 40k truck.

I bought mine Jan 4, 2016. I had a few problems right from the start but most are ironed out now. Now if someone would come up with a definite fix for the buzzy vibration in the steering wheel and gas pedal at 2,000 rpms I'd be near perfect.

On my '16 (which I got in Sep '15, so it's really early), I had the transmission re-flash and the rear-diff recall done, and beyond that, it's been great. No real issues.
