Progress update! This has been the gift that keeps on giving.

I completed the bench bleed, but after no less than 60 pumps, theres still just the smallest amount of air coming out of the tubes at the very end of the pedal stroke for the rear outlet on the master cylinder. I cannot for the life of me get the pedal down without just a little bit of air :notsure: not sure if this is normal or okay?

I bled both rear lines with 20+ pumps with bleeder open, then let it gravity bleed. The fluid comes out solid with no air bubbles. That's good.

Then went to bleed the front and the bleeder was rusted in so it snapped, and then the bolt extractor snapped in the bleeder. :annoyed:So hooray for new front calipers! Replaced both calipers and re-bled all 4 brake lines. The pedal still feels soft to me. Once i get it all back together I will have to see if the truck stops and go from there.

Next time I'm paying someone to do this shit.

At least you know you have good new parts to theoretically not worry about for a while!

Sometimes that's just the way she goes. At least the LCAs came out easy peasy...its almost expected that something had to go sideways with the brakes.

Troof. If I had 17s I would have just gone with the 4runner brake upgrade while I'm at it to stop my 3 tons of fun. I hate going from OEM to non-OEM if it's not and upgrade.

You can go to the Lexus brakes. They are the same pads but larger, thicker rotors

    Where are you at?
Also, what kind of riding do you want to do/ how skilled are you? I don't want to send you to some technical stuff that you'll hate and be hiking.

I'm in Lone Tree/Highlands Ranch. Most of my riding was east cost (lived in FL but would do trips to the Carolina's and ride Santos a lot) so I can't say how CO trails compare. But east coast I was comfortable on intermediate trails. I love riding enduro style trails, however, I fear most of the more intense downhills here would destroy my current bike (10 year old stumpjumper). So I guess some flowy XC/Enduro trails would be best till I get a beefier bike.

Ohh I love the stumpy and I will continue to ride the shit out of it, but it's a 2006, back when they were much more xc oriented vs the all mountain they have shifted towards nowadays. It was a perfect southeast bike.

My legs are getting tired just reading this. We are going to have to start a dedicated mountain biking thread so the rest of us can focus more on trucks without all these silly distractions.
