What Have You Done To Your 2nd Gen Tacoma Today?

Really makes me want to black out my toyota lettering instead of body colored

 

All 4 3rd gens I've driven have felt slower than my 2nd gen. They dont sound as good imo

 

Really considering these if I dont find used ones soon

 

I have these same seat covers & same colors in my Tacoma that I took out of a 2018 RAV4. They fit.

 

I’ve been wanting to do this since I got my truck! Can you elaborate a little bit on how you did that? Pretty please

 

Extended the wires for my CH4X4 switches so I can put them in a plastic loom and install the panel. Still need to do the illumination and ground wires.
I used what wires I had left from the navigation install. Illumination and ground will be run to the drivers kick panel, all other wires will be run to an aux fuse/relay box under the hood.
I left the panel in the bubble wrap to protect it from solder and scratches from being on the "workbench".

 

My head unit kept turning off on its own at least once a day and it has been really quiet since I bought the truck back in February. So I finally got around to installing a new radio last night. Hoping to get new speakers for Christmas.

 

Interesting. My stock head unit in my 2010 randomly turns off by itself but not often enough where I am going to replace it. I've wondered if that's a widespread issue or not.

 

From what I understand, the 09's were notorious for the unit going out. Not sure if they fixed it in 2010. I spent a lot less on my bed cover than I expected I was going to, so I went ahead and got the new radio haha. As I hoped, it's much louder now which was my biggest issue with the old one.

 

I am not who you asked, but I will answer for you.

It is really easy. The 7-pin (trailer light) connector has several plastic tabs on it (on the backside) that preclude it from fitting in the license plate light hole. All you need to do is trim those tabs off, then drill 2 holes in the bumper for the mounting screws. Take your time, and trim to fit.

The 7-pin wiring has a connector on it, about 8" from the 7-pin. This is easily disconnected, since you have to run the wiring harness through the bumper.

The license plate light also has a quick-disconnect connector on its wires, so it is easy to remove without cutting anything.

And, I think understanding my instructions is harder than actually doing the job!

Installed a 12v plug and switch in the back by the tailgate. Primarily will be used for the fridge. There’s a busbar back there now for future projects too.

Just drill a hole with a 2" metal hole saw and then you do not have to loose a license plate light. You can pick a chepo one up a harbor freight. I am afraid my one license plate light would burn out and I would get pulled over and hassled for not having one.

Checked the suspension after washing. There was some creaking, but it's gone with the bath.
This truck is really good.
Warning says = ' combined weight of occupants and cargo should never exceed 1040 lbs ';
I did 200 miles of shaking trails with 2,000 lbs; the engine ran the same as it runs with empty truck; no difference in mileage.

 

I'm not cool enough for the no fender club...
