All the parts to build the DC power box setup was pretty expensive, with the 8ga wire and all the components like $200+ :facepalm:I'm very happy with the way it turned out so it was worth it to me.

I'd say I'm close to 1000lbs with all the add ons. The truck still drives great even on these twisty mountain roads.

    Friday 5/31/19

***Took off Friday so I would be there while they replaced our well pump, was hoping to get some work on the truck done but they needed the entire car port to position their rig. $2000, a vacation day, and half the day waiting around for them to finish. :pout: After they left I was able to at least install rubber spacers between my roof rack and base (middle section of rack between mounting points was squeaking where is contacted the ARB base, needed the 1/8th clearance the rubber padding provided).

Because of the timing waiting on some additional items to arrive I needed to make the best of this weekend, a sewing marathon weekend it became.

    Saturday 6/1/19

***camp chef ranger III 3 burner stove padded case, I was going to integrate the padding into the case but it increases the level of build time and complexity tremendously, I took the easier route and just add the padding around the stove, 4 separate foam pieces placed around the unit worked out better than I thought, Black 1000D Cordura, 2" seat belt grab handle on front and sides

***a TW member in the RTT thread christened my toilet chair the "pooper chair" lol, any respectable pooper chair needs it's own carrying case, in all seriousness I wanted to prevent damage to the chair being taken in and out of the truck daily during the 2 weeks

    Sunday 6/2/19

***folds flat enough to store in seat map pockets when not in use

***misc storage bags, with my seat in the position I always drive in (I set passenger seat to match) there is approximately a 9" X 20" footprint of space behind the seat, I wanted to build a couple storage bags to maximize the usage of those 2 spaces, a 9x20 rectangular bottom design with a single piece body (normally I would do a rectangular top with a zipper to match the bottom but I ran out of zipper pulls), I used the grocery paper bag fold method to square off the top with closing hook & loop, and pair of 2" handles, these bags are strong enough to carry a heavy load but are more intended for retention of misc items within that small 9x20 footprint, overall dimension 9 X 20 X 25

I started a 5th item but was unable to finish late Sunday because of it's complexity, I'll post pictures when I complete I believe TW will be very interested in it. ;)

Damn $2000 for a well pump. I had mine replaced before I sold the house and it was 980 with him fixing some wiring. The guy manually pulled the pump out of the well 165 ft. I ended up helping pull the pump out since this guy was like 70 yrs old but probably could run circles around guys half his age.

Truck is looking good. Where did you position your rock lights? I am in the process of doing some on my truck.

565 ft well and they charge by the foot, it was the best price I got and I called 10 different places, only about half called me back with quotes $2000-$3500

Check out my post #178 for rock light details.

Yeah I reread hahaha. I did the same with my 4 middle ones and am going to the frame for the rear most. Where did you do the front 2 hard to tell in the picture.

Yeah my well guy just charged the 800 bucks for the pump then almost 200 labor. He was dirt cheap I thought. I knew they charged by the foot for drilling a new well. Damn yours is deep. The guy measured mine. When he did the pump. He said someone good did it. Hit good water at 80 ft and the well bottomed out at 260ft but they set the pump about in the middle. I lucked out on it I guess.

I used existing body bolts. There are two bolts, one on top of the other, that bolt the front and side sheet metal body pieces together. They are spaced out a couple inches so I used the top one.

Perimeter lights and rock lights combined, need to make adjustments to eliminate some shadows.

Thanks man looks good. I'll try that hopefully my bumper will hide them like yours did. I think I need to mess with my rear most middle light to get that positioned better.

The lights around the truck look really good.

My available free time before the trip is getting short, so worked on this piece of gear everyday after work this week.

    Wednesday 6/5/19

***spare tire storage bag, 31" diameter x 7" deep, 86 liters/23 gallons, 4 independent 2" straps with ITW quick release buckles which translates to an attachment point every 45deg

This one was a material hog.

***filled to about 70% capacity, takes on a turtle shell shape, maybe I'll call it the "Turtleback"

I specifically designed my roof rack to fit a KC 40" C-series light bar but I can't afford one right now. I took some time to study the design and dimensions of the Cali Raised light bars, they were also gracious enough to put up with all my questions before I purchased. Cali Raised LED gave me a great deal on one of their 42" double row bars so I went for it, but there was a chance it would not fit.

    Test fit, install to follow.

    Wednesday 6/5/19

*** to say it fit like a tailored glove would be an understatement :bananadance:

What do you intend to store/carry in it?

This light version probably trash, but it could be used for many other things.

I'm running out of time for my trip so I needed something fairly simple for now. I'm already thinking a v2 with multiple zippered layered compartments, additional webbing to support heavier loads, molle, and wire harness routing so I can mount my backup camera on it.

Got the light bar installed, it's crazy bright. Thanks Cali Raised LED!

***It started raining right after this picture was taken and has not stopped, didn't get a chance to take any night photos. Will post some soon. The rain did remind me I needed to install a grommet in the bottom of my spare tire bag, it had about half a gallon in it this morning.

My Air Zenith OB2 was at the house when I got home from work Friday afternoon. I took some pictures of the spot under the hood I thought might work. So I could study it over night before I started fabricating Saturday morning.

    Friday evening 6/7/19

***This spot has potential how am I going to mount it.

    Saturday 6/8/19

***I removed the air intake tube (just temp to have more room to work), removed nuts from anti-lock brake assembly, cleaned and chased threads with a tap on the unused threaded hole (top right).

***cardboard template for accurately aquiring hole locations

***0.25" base plate holes drilled and notch for clearance during installation (I would have preferred 0.1875" plate but that's all had) 0.25" is hard to weld with my 120v welder as it acts like a heat sink pulling all the heat from the weld area

I apologize for the jump in the fabrication pics, my Samsung S8+ just had an update and now my camera is all screwed up. I take pictures but they're not there when I go back later to look.

***This design is a pedestal type mount using a 0.25" base plate, 1.5" square tubing for the elevator, and 2" & 1" 0.1875" flat bar for the offset holding plate. Here I was slowing removing material from the elevator til I got the height just right. Tacked and taking one last look before final welds.

***Completed pedestal mounting bracket, black primered, bolted in place ready for final air compressor installation.

***Worked under canopies all day because of the rain, was having hard time seeing under the hood. Made good use of the engine bay lights. Final installed position ready for power /control wiring and air line plumbing.

Why such heavy steel for the mounting bracket? This compressor is ridiculously heavy. I can't find the weight in the manual but it has to be 30+lbs. Offroading with that much mass suspended on a offset pedestal mount it needed to be heavy duty. The air intake tube is supporting the far end of the compressor. I'm thinking more of the horizontal loading under G-forces.
