I received this MyCharge power unit https://mycharge.com/products/portable-power-outlet to demo (and keep) and it works great. I plug it into the bed outlet when driving to charge up. We run some LED rope lights inside the tent, and charge a couple phones if needed (one at a time if the lights are being run). It has 2 USBs and a standard 110 plug outlet for powering a laptop or something else.

Does anyone have any information on an aluminum hardshell version of the A49H by FSR? I’ve called time and time again the last few weeks and can’t ever get anyone on the phone.

How did you like riding at Demo? I went there with my brother and his friend a while back and it was ridiculous (in a good way). Had a ton of fun, then went down to the deli nearby and relaxed.

Yes that one, I think that’s so badass. I’ve been trying to find info on when it’ll be released or if it’s something that will even be for sale.

So I have a tiny hole in the fabric of my tent... looks like it got caught in the zipper. What have you guys used to patch parts of the fabric?

It’s fun we’ve ridden there before we did all of the Braille flow and this time around we did just Braille. Both super fun trails but the 3 or 3 1/2 miles back to the truck always sucks haha. Especially when you have dudes on e bikes rippin by you going uphill.

I've heard good things about the Gear Aid Tenacious Tape. I'd advise hearing from at least another person or two obviously since I don't have personal experience with this yet.

The ride back is always brutal. Those e-bikes are crazy, saw a few cruise by around town.

Looking into a bed rack & RTT situation. For my needs I'm looking into tents that w/that are at that 72" closed length. This means it will either overhang the bed by 6" or so that its somewhat out of the wind, or have to sit up above the cab so that it doesn't overhang the tail.

My question is, which is the lesser of two evils in terms of the vehicles dynamics?

I’ve used TEAR-AID on other stuff.
There are two kinds depending on the material.

    Yeah.
I'm looking at this as a mini-project. I ordered a dry box, small-ish AGM 12V battery, and a couple of power ports -- one for the cigarette lighter style that comes with the tent, and another with USB ports. I'll mount the ports on the side of the box and secure the battery in there. I got a small charger that has the cigarette-style plug, so I can charge it while driving. Should have plenty of juice for a few days use without charging. May add solar charging down the road, who knows. Much smaller and lighter than lugging a Group 24 marine battery around.

I got a message yesterday from them, they are no longer going to offer Aluminium... only the ABS. :annoyed:
