So just added a 2 USB port for the removed ECT dash switch,
fits good and it seems to work, i pulled power from the 12v power outlet to run it . on and off with the engine (and acc)
    I used
    $8.99
MICTUNING [New] 12V/24V 2.1A Dual USB Power Socket for Smartphone PDA iPhone iPad GPS Charger for Toyota

    https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01FFL2E6Q/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I pulled off the rubber boots for now
I also have the 2nd switch tied into my hood scoop LED bar
so it looks like i solved the empty hole problem.. so far the ECT mod has worked good . Thanks MESO

    EDIT:
Forgot to add this, and the 2 more in back.

Safest way for the plug i added is to run power from the battery into the cab , There are always "hot" in the dash, you just need to hunt them down but it is safer to run your own and have a fuse near the battery

@MESO My DIY is arriving tomorrow. Is there a complete install video showing how and where to run the cables from the knob?

BTW Once again thanks for the fast shipping!

Install videos are buried in this thread somewhere around page 32, I think.

In other news, I was able to turn on my front camera with the second switch, this time without blowing a fuse.

Meso has the video of pulling the climate panel- I want to say post 217 comes to mind. I also posted a semi detailed post with pictures and how I routed the wires

Thanks for linking the post and glad it helped out. I was actually able to get both connectors the fit in there horizontally but it was harder to take the picture and see. I haven’t had any issues with it and like you said you can remove the knob without the hassle of heat shrink or trying to fish the connectors back up the collar

I saw that someone managed to get their front camera on the second switch and I am wondering your set up on that and how you did it ? Or if someone can tell me what number post it is that he posted it. I do not feel like going through the last 10+ pages to find it

    Thanks guys
