Yeah I switched it around and was able to get channel 1 down to a 1.1 SWR. But 40 was on 3. So after lots of antenna tuning, I was able to get 1.5 on channel 1 and 1.9 on channel 40. Best I could get

Sounds like decent tuning actually. I forget the percentage, but at those readings, you're only losing about 3% efficiency???

Anyways, your antenna placement is going to dictate what the best SWR setting it is going to be. Not to mention antenna height, blah blah blah...

But with those readings, it would be considered pretty damn good!!!:fistbump:

Glad you got it resolved!!!:fistbump::cheers:

Not sure if I am working Friday yet. If not, I can lend a hand if needed.

Sounds like this could have been worse.

I have a 4 foot antenna, I pick up random broken chatter from time to time, but nothing good. I don’t think my output range is good because no one seems to respond to me on all that broken chatter

A few things could be happening:
    1) actual atmospheric skip
    2) TX'ing party is higher wattage output than legal
    3) people sometimes simply don't respond back

Anyways, not too many people use CB, but I'm always trying to advocate multiple types of comms. CB is relatively inexpensive, super easy to setup, and super easy to understand how to use. In short, CB is better than nothing when it comes down to it. I know I said hardly anyone uses CB, but you'd be surprised at how many truckers still utilize CB. When I'm out on the open road, I know I have at least some chance if something was to go wrong and say, given that off chance that no cell reception.

Anyways, personally, I'm glad to have different comms.
