Lift 2" all around and keep/improve ride

I know this is largely personal preference, but I would like to lift my truck 2" all around (to keep factory rake) but keep or improve the ride.

I have a 2019 DCSB OR, and I actually like the way the truck handles and rides. It seems to soak up the irregularities in the road. If I could keep the soft ride but have less nose dive, that would be ok.

I do not want to cut or modify anything, so will be running 265/75/16 at a max.

 

Go with a 2" spacer. I did and its perfect for my situation. I ride 95% surface streets and lots of forestry roads with not much more technical, I have a Jeep for that.

I did 2" front spacer and 1" rear block with 265/75r16s. Rides exactly as it did factory and was about a $120 investment with no complaints at all.

Im getting 19-20mpg. That is down from 23ish when totally stock. I choose heavy BFG KO2s which is the main cause of the decreased fuel efficiency.

2” front 1” inch rear still have 1” of rake. Ride is excellent. I’m a mall crawler and I don’t give a fuck LOL

Those with spacers, I have read people trash spacers on this forum, saying that they ride worse than stock. Is this the truth for a Tacoma?

I have personal experience putting a 2" level on my old truck (2018 Sierra 1500) and it did truly ride much worse than stock.

 

IMO the ride is like stock. For me going this route is perfect. Also if I was off-roading all the time I would’ve spent money to do an expensive lift. I don’t so why spend 3 grand to drive around just to have a perfect set up. We should all support each other for what ever we do to our trucks. To be honest I’m tired of seeing members trash talk spacer lifts. It’s my truck. To each there Own. Again the ride is like stock. I go camping and light trails. No problems at all.

 

The issue is that not all spacer lifts are the same. The ones that put the spacer between struts throw off preload and that's what makes the ride harsher. The kits that stack the spacer on top of the struts don't.

 

To ask people to be rational, sensible, and honest with themselves on the internet...you're asking to much man.

I did this first. No cutting and I ran a 265/70/17 tire.

much better choice of alignments with the addition the aftermarket UCAs. I should have done that the first time up but wanted to keep the costs reasonable.

 

There are two different types of spacer lifts. The ones that simply sit on top of the coil and not in-between the coil are the ones to get. With the correct spacers, the coil is not preloaded and thus no change to the spring rate. You more than likely had the poorly designed type on your Sierra which lead to your bad experience. That’s why it’s important do your homework.
While I do advocate spacer lifts that are 2” and less, anything higher is a bad idea. If you want more than 2”, you’ll need to go with a more complete and expensive suspension upgrade.

The install is very simple. It took about 6 hours for me to do the whole truck. That was working by myself with no power tools. There’s a lot of videos on YouTube showing the process.

 

Do you remember which spacers and blocks you picked up? I have zero experience with this stuff and would love to put it on my truck and not use the dealer.

That's the one I used. The 3/2 kit levels the truck without a lean in either direction.
