I am currently on a road trip visiting family out of state and ran into the dreaded starter click. I know that it's likely the contacts. I have a few questions for those that have done the starter solenoid contacts.

Can one replace the contacts with the starter in place (i.e. still installed in the truck)?

Where can I find the contacts without ordering them? Dealer?

Does anyone have the part number(s)?

Nope, you'll have to pull it.

Maybe the dealer, its possible and likely the best chance.

    I don't have a PN though sorry..

I tried to fit bucket seats out of my 2nd gen T4R into my base Taco. Didn't work out.

That's what I did to my Tacoma today.

    Thanks!

Looks great on the truck. Clearly the Greyhound folks left it out in the rain a bit on the cross-country voyage to see all that rust on there; bummer. Was sparkley when it left the depot here. Should clean up nicely though, and then paint well.

As far as paint vs. PC - totally up to you but I've seen racks with no paint at all, and they hold up fine. Not worth the cost of PC IMO.

If I cut and splice my blinkers over to these led markers, will they still work? 5E9E5580-2547-42FA-B81A-51744F827687.jpg

yes. Will hyper blink due to the LEDs lower resistance. You can just swap out your blinker for a new one from the parts store for like 10 bucks and you'll be good.

Anyone have pictures of how they reinforced their ifs skids? Planning on adding some before I paint mine and I remember pictures of people adding angle iron.

Thanks. Got the contacts and plunger ordered from the dealership, should be here first thing tomorrow morning. I'm hoping the starter will last a few more days before it stops working all together. I don't have any tools and really don't want to deal with dropping the budbuilt skids alone by hand.

I thought you just reach in behind the passenger wheel, unclip the rubber cover between the frame and inner fender well, unbolt two bolts and the start pops off of the V6 models ...

The videos I watched indicate that the bolts aren't easy to get to from the side. The easiest way looks to get it from the rear with the skids removed using a bunch of extensions. I literally have no tools so I'd have to buy any that I would need too. Talk about inconvenient timing.
