    Yeah, but I ripped the one today lol. The dealer where I bought the new OEM LBJ this afternoon didn't have any in stock so I just taped it together with gaff tape, should hold up

    The only 2 that are all the way thru are the ones on the inside closest to the diff, the ones closest to the wheel dont go thru...no holes on the top of the spindle for them to go through like the other 2 bolts have

    Unless the 2wd spindles are different in that regard than the 4x4 ones

    I don't know about 2 washers being OEM. Using 2 washers double stacked on one bolt doesn't make any sense, no benefit & in most cases actually weaker. Is one washer captive on the bolt & the second washer loose?

    My truck came stock with the flange bolts. Flange bolts are better IMO.

    The trucks that got the rubber rock guard (being referred to as a dust shield in today's thread) originally came with bolts with washers and no flanges. The washer allows the bolt to be torqued without binding/twisting the rubber rock shield.

    The bolts with flanges come with LBJ for earlier year trucks that had no rubber shield. Also a different part number for the LBJ.

    That makes sense but double stacking 2 washers doesn't. If that second washer is OEM I'm assuming it was for use with that rock guard?

    Does anyone have pictures of how their UltraGauges are mounted? I’d like to put it front and center on the steering column but I’m not sure how it would fare.

    Additionally: in regards to the actuator on an ADD truck. Are the actual axle tubes different between electronically actuated ADD and vacuum actuated ADD?

    I’ve got a 4Runner differential with the vacuum actuator and I was wondering if the electronic actuator is a direct swap or if I would have to swap the tubes.

    The double stack is a fix. My guess is that the the threads in the spindle are fubar so the bolt cannot thread in all the way.

    I see. I hope it's not a permanent "fix". Stacking washers is bad practice & especially for something critical like the LBJs for our trucks not a good idea. I know @eon_blue likes to wheel his truck hard sometimes so I hope he doesn't leave it like that.

    It's been like that since the truck had 24k miles on it when I bought it bone stock. The last set of OEM LBJs were installed at Toyota at 33k. I don't think it's a fix, I think there are 2 different part numbers were looking at here.

    I would have to verify but the one thing coming to mind is how some people get bolts with their assemblies that are 2 different lengths. Others come with all 4 the same length (what mine came like). The 2 washers effectively shortens 2 of the bolts, at least that's the only sense I can make of it.

    Its put together the same way the Toyota service dept put them together on both the last 2 sets of OEM LBJs I had so I'm not gonna fret over it

    Your bolts came with double washers on them? Stacking washers of the same type is not normal and in some industries prohibited. There's no reason for it other than for taking up slack as a work around. Stacked washers can act as a spring & be unreliable. Washers aren't normally hardened, not sure if the captive ones on Toyota bolts are, I never checked. But ok, I still don't believe that stacked washers is stock.

    These are the different LBJ bolts. No double washers.

    They didn't come with them but the last two sets of them I had that were installed at the dealership did, I can't imagine they'd do something like that as a workaround for a spindle with bad threads. All bolts I pulled out were the same length as the new ones I put in (I compared them side by side) so I put the same extra washer on them that Toyota put on them last time. The way it was put together is a mirror image of the way it was when I pulled it off

    Double washers are not stock.

    @eon_blue IMO your sheared bolt failure was cause by the bolt binding up. It had nowhere to go. My guess is that the threads are fucked up in your spindle.
