I'm also getting a clunk. Not sure if it happened before the lift (3"). I'll get in my truck and slight turn the wheel before starting it, there is a metallic clunk/pop coming from the right side of the truck. I have new upper control arms and sway bar bushings. It just does it that one time.

Wheels and tires mounted and balanced. Next step is to get some suspension purchased. Need a little more clearance for the offset of the Ray 10's.

I was gonna run power to the bed into my toolbox & keep xtra battery there along w/ power inverter, air compressor & solar(when I get to it that is). Wanna make it so if I remove toolbox I can have a quick disconnect but not fry the system either.

I've read on here that a clunk may be coming from the front disks. Apparently the way the brakes were designed allowed some play in the brake assembly so that when you hit a bump a clunk is produced. Not sure which thread it was but you could probably find it

This isn't my discussion, but I think what they are getting at is that if the spacer fails, then you have a bolt with 1" of "free space" between the head and the floor, making it more likely to shear than if it was tight to something (floor...spacer...whatever). As long as the spacers don't fail and break, then you are exactly right...shear strength is the same. Being plastic, the spacers are more likely to break and free up that 1" of free space than a steel spacer would be.

    Just something to consider.

The bottom line of it is, if you're good with it then it's perfect.

But if someone rear ended you the force would be back and directly down onto the spacer. IMO I think they will be fine, but to say they will not see a load is inaccurate.

Every time I go from reverse to forward, I hear a clunk. Its the brake pads shifting from the back of the caliper to the front. Seems to have gotten worse as the pads have worn more. On the 2nd gen Tacos the pads ride on pins, unlike other vehicles that have spring clips that lock them into a position. Adding a second spring clip supposedly takes care of this issue. I have not tried it yet since I am still on the original pads, but I plan to.

Pic for reference, not my truck.

Any idea where to order the 2nd clip? I'm 99% sure this is happening on my taco. 40k miles, OEM brakes. Trying to get another 20k off em before I replace. Thanks
