So I am familiar with the upgrade via all the commonly used links and have read them all. I am about to do the swap to 231mm WL calipers when the parts come. I was wondering what exactly needs to be done in order to modify the banjo bolt. I am still not clear as to what should be drilled out and by how much.

Im not sure what needs to be done for the stock brake line but I highly suggest you get the steel lines to prevent squishy brakes.

Some of this Some of that
Standard double flare! Compression fittings are for sinks, not brake lines

If you just buy new brake lines from a place like then you don't have to anything but swap the lines out since they bolt right up and no drilling required.

Thanks for the help. Those stainless lines from Wheeler's are nice I'll probably have to get those if the shipping time isn't too long. I'm on a tight schedule to finish the brakes before next Friday.

If is unable to meet your timeline, you might consider one of the other vendors from whom quality Goodridge G-Stop Brake Lines are available. (FWIW, mine came from THMotorsports.)

i have the 13WL calipers on my tacoma and tried to modify the stock banjo bolts, but could only get one side to seal correctly. ended up purchasing the wheeler's stainless lines and they bolted up with zero modifications and zero problems. i highly recommend going that route.

Why not just use the stock hardline into the caliper? Don’t the Tacoma’s come with hardline flares into the caliper?

I’ll go with stock lines and do mods to the banjo bolt. I did the install and had to take it off again. The one of the calipers what locked, I’m thinking because I used the stock banjo bolt with no mods. I’ll try it again with the bolt drilled. Thank you.

Tacomas do not have stock hardlines. The Tacoma has a soft line and a banjo bolt setup.

Drill the center of the bolt to match the shape of the compression flare in the caliper.
