GROUP BUY FOR THE SUPERCHARGER PULLEY HAS CLOSED AND PRODUCTION WILL COME TO A CONCLUSION IN AN ESTIMATED 3-4 WEEKS OF LEAD TIME. SEE THIS POST FOR LATEST INSTALL NOTES AND IMPRESSIONS:

This is one of the very few items now missing amongst the (now) myriad of parts available for boosted 2nd gen 4.0 blowers. I have brought this up in the blower reference thread only very recently, but it is something I have been pondering on for a very very long time. Now I really shouldn't have to explain the benefits of this, but for those who do not know, less rotational mass allows for a faster free revving supercharger drive which ultimately would allow in faster rotor boost engagement. Couple this with a lightweight OE sized NST billet crank pulley, and (what most boosted owners already have) a billet Qwickchange pulley setup and you'll have a much faster overall revving setup over OE designs. We would need one thing, however, a group of people interested and willing to pay for said product.

Photo purely for visual reference purposes:

Here is a shot of the real version and what will be being reproduced in lightweight form:

So where exactly does this pulley go and I would suggest having some design pics and reference data to back up a claim like that. I mean when it comes to adding power people want to see the proof.

This pulley bolts after the crank pulley itself and is directly intended for supercharger application Tacomas only. Any NA non supercharged vehicles do not need or will benefit from this in any way.

There is no possible way to have reference data on this, as this is exploring previously untreaded waters for the TRD Supercharger equipped 4.0s and there are no design pictures for this. If you are not familiar with the supercharger setup for our trucks then you will not know what I am referring to which is exactly why it is a feeler thread.

This is meant to target the niche group of modders in TWs supercharger community who have become tinkerers and modders alongside myself.

What I am saying is you might want to have one made for yourself get some testing and R&D done then bringing it up to the SC guys. I know I wouldn't want to go in on something that hasn't been at least being prototyped unless I was getting it for free and I was the guinea pig and helping with the final product.

Not trying to knock your idea I think it is great that you see a need in a niche market and want to bring something out that will help. Hope that it works out for you.

I'm in. Can we get a normal crank billet pulley to go with it?

Its just a pulley. You either want it or you dont. Alot of the s/c guys are very far into their builds and this is just a nice addition. Shouldn’t need any testing for a basic pulley

Like @12TRDTacoma said, this is for a pretty niche market, there are a handful of people who know their supercharger very well, and many have done mods that no one else has done and are getting results no one else has seen. We understand exactly how this mod will benefit us.

You type like @12TRDTacoma is being dumb in presenting his idea. He’s actually one of the smartest people on here.

It sounds like you don’t understand what we’re getting at with this thread. Your comments that his proposal is not working would be like me going into a front fixed axle conversion thread and criticizing the presentation of the idea while knowing nothing about the subject.

Then again, maybe you’re just trolling, in which case, looks like I fell for the bait. But I don’t care, because it was pretty fun to type all that.

Naw man I get it. Don't think you guys get my perspective no worries. Ya'll do you. Hope everything works out.

Oh and nope not thinking he is dumb. If you actually read my post I gave him props for seeing a need addressing it and I do know it's a niche market.

    You're in! :)

I have my OE crank pulley sitting in the garage. If there needs to be, once whoever has a SC crank drive pulley donates it over my way or to @XPOTRPR I can either loan mine to him or to the local machine shop doing the work and then you all can get double lightweight pulleys like I would be running!

    You're in! :)

    This right here.

    You're in! :)

    What @ThomasMore66 said.. lol.

We gotta be honest with ourselves. As much as I would absolutely LOVE to have a twin screw rotor pack in my TRD supercharger housing a large part of me knows that realistically speaking, that will cost THOUSANDS after all the R&D/ machining work is said and done. We might as well invest what we can into what we have now and spin these things to the moon to make wicked power out of it.

    :D I like your thinking!

    Shall I add you?

    x2!

Thanks for the kind words @Athlaos .. haha. Are you interested in this? Shall I add you by the way?
