I'm looking for a budget friendly replacement for my entune base head unit.
Something with rca plugs for a sub, car play would be nice. Something thati a direct plug and play replacement. I want to add features without loosing anything and without spending a ton.

The Alpine is nice, but at over $600 it's not really budget friendly. I am considering this
    Pioneer AVH-1300NEX Multimedia DVD Receiver with 6.2" WVGA Display/Apple CarPlay/Built-in Bluetooth/SiriusXM-Ready/AppRadio Mode +.
The reviews are good and I have had some really good pioneers products in the past, and the price is pretty good.

Any aftermarket head unit you get you will want a iDatalink Maestro to go with it.

I own this, I would suggest a bigger screen for a newer truck. I'm happy with it, but I wish I got the 7 inch version.

To go to the larger screen, I would probably have to change my bezel and I would prefer not to do that.

Budget friendly, plug and play with all the existing features plus car play.
That is something you may have to wait on.

You won’t be able to use your steering wheel controls or data screens on your dash.

You still lose a few features with a maestro kit, compass/nav in the instrument cluster.

You can go directly to the idatalink maestro website and they have everything listed showing what decks are compatible and what features of the idatalink maestro will run for the specific vehicle and deck. I would 100% agree that you have o run the maestro to be able to keep the stock functions. Using a Pioneer AVH-2400NEX in my 2017 TRD off-road. I am even able to go into my deck and adjust power door lock and lighting timers and sensitivity. If you do not use the idatalink maestro, all of these features will be gone. At this point you would have to go to the dealer or reinstall the oem deck to change a feature. Any questions feel free to ask. I did all of the work myself so I should be able to help

This is correct. You can still get to oem settings though if you purchase a completely compatible head unit

Yes the idatalink maestro is the very best and easiest way to keep everything as close to stock as possible. Don’t forget to buy the antenna adapter also. This does not come in the wiring kit! Learned this in the middle of the install. Fortunately Best Buy had one in stock
