I threw them on my 4runner instead. 315s look so small next to 37s

I'd love to move up but it's a lot of money wasted. I'm in the same boat as you with 488s. So I would essentially be redoing it all. I like the driveability with it as it sits now. Just drove to Colorado springs and it was a comfortable drive. I couldn't imagine 37s.

I keep thinking if ima go 35s to just do 37s but I fear snapping the front diff while wheeling on 37s and 5.29s.. CVs are and easy fix, the diff I’m terrified of lol.

    Stoptech 6 piston, 2pc slotted 360mm rotors.

I hear ya. I am going to see how the 4.88’s do with the 37’s and the supercharger. I’m hoping it will have enough grunt and I won’t need gear swap. Worst case, I’ll go to 5.29’s. We’ll see

Mine drives fine with 4.88’s and 37’s. 2-3 trips from CA to UT and about the same to Lake Tahoe/similar distances. Cruises at 70-75. :notsure:

All my rigs are purpose built. From crawling to camping. I also enjoy a nice stock truck for what that’s worth. Toyota’s are the jam!
@zippsub9 what say you about 37s! I know your in a 2nd gen, but thought you might shed some light with your experiences.

Im actually starting my research now on a new rack as I got a feeling mine will die probably in a year or two. Hopefully by then I could see what you end up doing. Are you trying out Solo's steering rack or have you already moved onto something else?

I dont know how you do it man. I'm so loaded down with all the armor it's a pig. Always in 4th and 5th. 6th gear is rare

No clue. I have as much armor as you I’m pretty sure.

Front bumper with winch, full 1/4” steel skids, bedcage, rack, lots o’ shocks, rtt, beadlocks.

I never hit sixth but I don’t care. 2000ish rpm is fine with me.

Oh wait...you don’t have the tune right? That makes a good diff. Especially with gear lock.

I know turbos and an s/c is coming out but I don’t feel like it’s worth it with how mine drives now.

so we are close to the same weight then. Right I dont have the tune. My buddy has it with 488s and 35s and his truck pulls away from me.

Not gonna lie man the math don’t make sense how 37s on 4:88s are plausible but hey if it works it works.

OVTune 2.0 on 91 with the dump tubes would probably make a substantial difference for ya

    What math doesn’t make sense?

I bet I can pull away from a lot of regular passenger cars with my truck as it sits now. At lest starting around 55-60. Cruises at 70-75 in fifth no problem. Gets horrible gas mileage of course. Probably spin the tires a bit off the line.

I should go time my 0-60 and see how far off it is from stock.
