Ahhh!! Gotcha! Hahaha. I thought you meant the tires literally have a thread in between the tires and wheels. LOL!

You're the second person who's recommended Nitto but the other guy mentioned the Ridge tires.

Now it's a tie between Nittos and Coopers

Nada! My pops had some Terra G1s on his truck and they were great. Once I saw the ridgies I went with um. I'm looking at the Yokohama geolanders as my next set though.

+1 for wildpeaks. For the price, I'm really happy with them

I have Nitto Ridge Grapplers on my TRD pro wheels, not such a big fan. Wore prematurely and often slipped in loose dirt and rain is horrible. On road they were great, mostly quiet, but have gotten louder since wearing. I've only had them on for about 15K miles. I'm looking at the STT Pro's and Wildpeaks to replace. Only problem is that the TRD rim is only 7" wide and to run a 285/70/17 it should be at least 7.5. for both tires.

Funny, I have the exact opposite experience as you. I live in WA and they're great in the rain. I mainly do rocks/loose dirt for 4wheeling and they've been great there as well. They do get a little louder as they wear but no where near a MT. I have almost 20k on mine and at this rate should go at least 40k. Could be though how narrow your wheels are. :boink:

This list isn't complete without the mention of BF Goodrich All Terrains. I know there are a lot of guys who dismiss them as over-rated and over-priced, but they're tried and true. I've had them on every truck and SUV I ever owned. The ride is nice, on and off-road, and I've always gotten a lot of milage out them. I'm still on my stockers on my 3 month old 2019, but TKOs will be on there before winter this year.

Honestly, I think this is the problem in retrospect, not the right wheel for the tire.
