@MESO Will an access cab version of these be made? Need to know if I should squeeze these into my pre-approved list of mods to purchase when they drop. :D

    Negative.
This will be a 2 part brake light. The BASE will hold the gasket, and bolt onto the cab sealing everything up.
Then The HEX SHELL will snap over the top(retaining screws on the bottom) so you can still remove/access the lights without breaking the cab seal. Also people that are running campers/caps can use just the BASE for wire pass through, etc

Yes most likely. Now that I will be making/selling my own "rock lights" I will create more housings to pair with them

@MESO your first post (that I quoted here) shows and mentions an integrated OEM style plug. The later does not reflect this.

Additionally, those that choose to run chase lights, or some other light configuration that is NON-stock may have problems with the stock style plug. Do you plan to offer multiple back plate options, or is this later post witch seems to show a small pass through hole the newest version, which would also allow added light configurations?

I do not know if it has been asked, but do the hex lights have switchback possibilities?

Was thinking of a 3\3/3 set up.
3 on the left and right would be turn amber switchback with reverse and cargo, and the 3 in the center would be just brake lights.

No they will not. 1 color per pod. Internal room is already tight, and if I cut the number of LED's in half to run a switchback output would be sacrificed. Good news is you have 9 of them, so the color combinations are endless.

Finally completed this project with the day off yesterday! The paint match is still growing on me.. black would have probably looked better with the BR.

Only issue was this thing was the final step of mounting the bolts. They are wedged up against the two outer lights, so much so I couldn't get the left one alligned and it's causing the housing to bow out. Is my only option drill the holes on the cab a little wider and go with a jack nut?

I think the color match looks great! My truck is black, so mine already matched.
I had to drill out the cab holes to get everything to line up. Didn’t want anything in a bind. I just drilled them larger then used a little paint to prevent rust. I also put a bead of RTV silicone on the housing, around the wiring and around the mounting bolts for the lights to help seal everything.
    I love my KC-5 light!!

I over drilled the plastic housing. Mine was bowed in the middle as well.

Did you end up still using the supplied metal brackets? They seem to be maxed out at width.

Oh you're saying the throat isn't deep enough to go outward? Mine seemed to be centered in the cab holes. Just seemed the holes were too narrow on the plastic brake housing. Over drilling allowed the bolts to come closer together and remove the bow.

Yea, I used them. When I was drilling the cab holes, I went ahead and drilled the light housing holes too. I just made sure that I had enough “slack” to not put anything in a bind. I was able to use the supplied metal clips and screw the bolts in by hand.

I missed the first ordering, but I managed to snag the BD4-NMO from the spring cleaning sale. :bananadance:
    I finally got it installed:

I'm using the weBoost Drive Reach Fleet cell phone signal booster.
I'm planning to do a write up eventually. The long story short is it might have been too much effort (and price ) for a clean cell booster install, but I'm happy with it overall. Thanks, Meso!

Hi folks, doing an install for my brother's truck...

Need MESO installation advice for 2nd Gen DCSB, 4 light KC MESO w/NMO for a cell phone amplifier also for bed light:
    1. Is there a gasket between the light and the truck, should I order a new dealer gasket?
    2. Does anyone have pics instructions on dropping the headliner?
    3. Has anyone run a switchable 2 gen bed light? Where did you pull power from/did you go to the fusebox? Where did you place the switch?
    4. Has anyone run a cell amplifier w/NMO antenna in their 2nd Gen? Where did you place the amplifier and how did you route the coax from the MESO light?
I would appreciate any pm's photos or links to anyone that documented a bedlight and/or NMO install on a 2nd gen. This thread is really long and I'm not finding (yet) the info I need.

    Thanks!

    JL

I can help you on some:

    1. There is indeed a gasket. You will need to order an aftermarket one (only saw 1 company making them selling on Amazon) or you can make your own with something like EPDM rubber, neoprene rubber or whatever. You cannot buy just the gasket from Toyota. It comes as a full brake housing assembly. The alternative is if your stock gasket didn’t get torn up on removal you can just leave as is and hope it’s water tight, or run a bead of silicone.

    2. Follow this for 2nd gen headliner. You really only need to remove the attachments from the rear grab handles rearward. Your goal is just to drop the rear headliner unless you really want to drop the whole thing. Be careful with the clips within the C-pillar trim. You will have to remove the rear storage bins too.
    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/2012-dc-interior-head-liner-removal-write-up.247104/

    3. I ran my 2x KC white LEDs to power at an auxiliary fuse box in my engine bay. You can do an add-a-fuse to the in-cabin fuse box under the dash if you don’t have a standalone aftermarket panel. I ran ground to a bolt holding the rear seat in.

    4. I run an NMO for a 2m radio but not a booster. Either way, ran coax through toward the headliner and over to C-pillar and down to floor. Zip tie secured along the way. My radio is mounted at my center console so I went all the way to the dash and back to the shifter area under the door panel trim at the floor where all the stock wiring is run, but of course this all depends on where you want your booster.

Not a great pic, but it's raining..again, so it's in the garage till the silicone cures. Thanks for the awesome product @MESO I went with 3 white to see how much it'll throw at night when messing around with things behind the truck. Also, thanks to @cruiserhead for a great write-up, my light was already cracked so I did not mind trashing it at all..:smash:3rd light.jpg
