Are you talking about a OEM Toyota pro grill or a knockoff?

My understanding is as long as you buy the right model, you can transfer the sensor over to the new grill.

Probably have an easier time with warranty if it was a true toyota part. But let’s hear someone with more experience.

Also, if u do take it off, my ‘19 had 4 push pins on the very bottom. I watched a couple YouTube videos and none of them mentioned these pins. They’re hidden under a black shroud. Still easy money

I have a non-TSS 2016. The $140 faux Pro grill I bought nearly 2 years ago had the TSS mount location in it. I imagine most now have it. I have read at least 80% success with aftermarket grilles and TSS. Just search this thread. Only read a couple that had to get a new calibration done. Seems like most still used the Toyota garnish.

Any complaints with it a few years later?

I used to make a wiring harness to run Sport/OffRoad/Pro/Limited drl headlights in an SR. Now you can buy Depot brand headlights that have that feature to work in an SR.

This is exactly why I went with the SR5 grille and SR bezel. People are having issues during service now because of the Pro Grille (even OEM). Toyota is doing some preemptive CYA here.

    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads...rding-trucks-with-pro-grills-or-lifts.608494/

The sensor on the Pro grille is mounted and calibrated differently than on the others.

Good point. Pro is at the bottom of the grille and the other models it is in the middle.

Thinking "outside the box", the pro sensor is mounted what 4-5 inches lower and calibrated as such. Just put in a lift to keep the sensor art the same height from the ground. Problem solved. Right??

Keep the original grille for services. The grille is a 20 min swap.

This is the one I have used. You likely won’t need more than one.

Don’t use the Rust-Oleum peel coat... stuff is horrible. Way too thin and sputters out.

I bought an OEM bed mat. I've been told that it's the best accessory you can buy.
