I've had the pleasure of speaking and knowing a few Holocaust survivors and for people to say that it didn't happen is pretty fucked up. The shit some of these people went through to survive and escape some of the bad things that happen is terrible. It was hard just sitting there listening to them talk about these experiences...:(

Once again...facts are not assumptions. Every religion is completely based on people's assumptions.

If evolution was fact there wouldn't be soo many against it. Idk statistics but I bet there are more religious people than evolutionists. So according to me religion is the right assumption. According to you evolution is the right assumption. At least we both agree that only one is true.

Facts are not facts because most people agree with them...facts are facts because they represent the truth. It doesn't matter if people are against it or not. Evolution is proven, no if's and's or but's about it. Religion on the other hand offers no evidence of any kind. Yet hardcore religious people refuse to admit that evolution is a fact because it basically disproves everything that they believe in.

How come scientists are puzzled as to why the human body does not live forever? They don't understand why we grow old and die. They see the human body as being able to live forever.

Is it a coincidence that in the Bible it says that man was supposed to live forever?

And since your sprung on these "facts"....

What's your explanation as to bible prophecy?

Where science proves something was written way before it happened or came true. That's not religious people out there putting dates on scrolls and stuff.

This post is very vague and confusing. What "prophecy" exactly are you speaking of?

While evolution continues to tell us that species transform themselves in a simple almost magical manner, modern biology shows this not to be the case. Organisms are so complex that for them to transform themselves into different ones would require a theory of COevolution. The random processes assumed by evolutionary theory deny such a possibility.

Genes are just information encoded along a long string of the chemical DNA; they cannot do anything themselves.

Wow never really went through this thread before, full of good stuff. Just one quick point here: though debating for the purpose of developing our logic is always good, we must realize that no matter whAt argument we create for religion, it never succeeds in proving anything. Religion is a matter of faith, and the more one can find the strength to believe in God (not necessarily a Christian god, but any god for that matter) the moRe genuine your relationship is with God. A great German Philosopher by the name of Kierkegard once pointed out that the more we try to come up with logical reasons for our faith, the less genuine our relationship with God becomes for our relationship must rely on logic and our ability to convince, rather than faith and trust which is the core of it all.

In the midst of drowning children, unemployed and homeless families, and Mexican massacres, we must have faith that God does have a reason for it all. And as much as our humanistic and egotisitcal drives try to understand it all, we must humble ourselves and realize that although humans have the highest cognition of all creatures on Earth, this doesn't free us from limitations, and it may very well be the case that out brains simply can't understand God's plans, for whatever reason it may be.

    Vote Monica Lewinski for Prez.
