Indeed, after AZT I plan on doing Humphreys and Aggasiz in the snow as prep for Rainer and Whitney on the Muir route.

    It was.
I miss that truck, it wouldn’t suit my needs now. But it would make a fun toy to have.

Some of the things I did to it were still there... the cheap lights in the bumper, the glass housings that accept H4 bulbs, the wheels I bought new for it, the cheap camper shell, etc.
I heard from a friend that it was stolen and recovered at a chop shop in Tucson. So the doors and the hood are different. The factory front skid was gone and I saw oil all over the front of the motor & suspension. A far cry from when I had it... I made sure there wasn’t a rattle anywhere on the truck and it didn’t leak a drop of fluid anywhere.

Just as I expected. Battery pack went out 6 months before the warranty expires. Replaced by Toyota no charge. Should be back on the road tomorrow afternoon. New battery pack should be warrantied for 3 years and unlimited miles!

just got back. good trip. and no.. we missed that shit show on the 17 by minutes maybe. we didnt hit a single bit of traffic.. I cruised 75+ the whole way on an open freeway, all while the SOUTHBOUND 17 was dead stopped for miles. part of it was even the traffic that got stuck northbound, trying to turn around and head back southbound. all the overpasses were gridlocked too. IDK how we got that lucky.. but we didnt even know until we stopped in Cordes and the guy at the mcdonalds asked if we got stuck in the traffic. it was nuts. we saw the burnt brush and the crew sitting in black canyon city. we were wondering what was going on too. lol

Is that something you'll ever use? Most who remove them from the vehicle toss them.

It’s probably the easiest, most compact, best tool to jack your truck up on the side of the road to change a tire. Off road or needing it for other reasons than just a tire, may call for other options. I try to carry a full floor jack now when I’m bigger trips, but will never get rid of the little bottle jack under the seat

Agreed. I keep mine and a bigger bottle jack in the truck.
Need a scissor jack for the daily.

Ah gotcha. Was wondering why you said a scissor jack originally. I need a spare tire for the daily since these new cars don’t freaking come with one. Just give me a freaking doughnut so I can get out of BFE and get a new tire.
