    oil change...
fog lights dont have a sheild over the bulbs to disperse the light behind it and bounce of the rear then shine forward...they just shine straight out into your eyes.
DTRL's usually have reflectors or lenses that keep the light from being broadcasted into oncomming traffic.

I generally use mine when it's foggy or to light up a mountain road in the dark (helps to see the deer to the sides.)

I usually only use them at night. They are going to go out eventually, so why not try to save them?

Sometimes I forget to turn them off. And on long trips/Tacoma meets or I just want to feel cool and let everybody know that I have HIDs during the daytime I'll have both my headlights and my fogs on.
I can't stand driving at night without them on too. Without them I see nothing directly in front or beside me and with my 5000k headlights the lighting is perfect.

If somebodies fogs or brights are blinding me I do this. :)

I don't have any problem with fog lights being on when someone is behind me, or approaching for that matter. As long as they are pointed correctly. Then again, I'm in a truck. Driving/fog lights from something like a civic should not be hitting me in the face. If they are, then they aren't pointed correctly.

I keep mine on with my lights at all times. I am a driver's ed instructor and I was amazed when I learned how much further a car can see you during the day with your lights on. After being in a head on collision on a country I am willing to do anything to avoid a repeat. Although if another drunk loses control of his van and hits me there isn't a whole lot my headlights are going to do about that.

It's not new, it's not Mexico
Here in New Mexico we like to drive around with our fog lights on all the time, that way when it does rain or there is fog we'll have one burned out.

Did the mod, run mine with the parking lights at dusk, cause along time ago, when I was a kid (1970's) that was the cool thing and I still like it.
