That makes me think about what types of metal are being used on them then. On my old ford i had a custom made honeycomb grille from a fab shop near my house it was made from stainless though, never had any issues with it expanding.

Actually the metal and the plastic would contract in cold weather. They would just contract at different rates.
This happens every year on every vehicle. We are just isolating our topic to one specific area.
In a purely theoretical bubble: from 72 degrees F to -15 degrees F, the plastic would shrink about 4 times more than the aluminum, in the horizontal direction. (approx. 0.36" vs 0.09")
HOWEVER, these are rough numbers and don't account for any geometry, or clearances in mating features, or other real world happenings.
Also, it is not an instantaneous temperature change. It is gradual as the seasons change so things have a chance to acclimate and settle without damage.

Just ordered one today! I was iffy til I saw the pictures. Can't wait. What's going on with the second one? does that light up????

Yeah I know what you mean they should've lowered it to the piece that's above the bumper, the black lower grill. Where everyone puts their light bars

I've been thinking about hitting up a junkyard to see if I can get a headlight that is damaged for next to nothing to try this.

I mean i don't think a Barcelona red would be a good fit for my tuck, but i feel like the more neutral colors would have a good shot in making that look special

I'm curious as to what most of you tie into for your amber grill LED's?
Some I have read tie into the running lights some others into the driving lights or run a switch on the dash.

@MESO - you said you were looking into it a while back...and bam there she is! I'd love to see how it looks installed and then how much it's gonna cost me to get one.
