Everything Ive read about this swap is that its its plug and play on the later years. No clock spring required.

I don’t think it is, then again I planned on wiring the paddle shifters to control the stereo so I needed the extra pins on the IS300 clockspring.

It looks like I can make these button shifters look and feel like switch blanks. Just gonna fill the little void on the back of the switches with some epoxy so that they cant be pressed and paint over the up and down lettering on the front.

Also the cruise control will 100% not work. The resistors are all different values than the Tacoma stalk.

I’ve got a complete IS300 setup if you want it, complete with airbag and clockspring. Never got to attaching it.

I’ve got a sequoia wheel I’m going to run. I don’t care for the smaller wheels in the trucks.

    Huh. Guess you’re right.

That sux. All that was keeping me from installing it in my truck was the cruise control wouldn’t work. Can’t swap the stalks either since they’re different lengths.

I’d have to desolder the Tacoma stalk resistors and resolder then to the IS300 stalk.

Someone also does it in here to an 02 https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/after-market-steering-wheels-for-03-tacoma.1495/page-2. Last post answers your question regarding compatability on the later years.

I really wish Toyota had put a tray like they do on the 3.0 and 3.3 engine sim the cars to catch the oil and drain it away from everything... I might try to make something since I’ll have all the room isn’t he world

Idk, It was only $18, so Ill hang on to it for now. I wanna play around with making those switches look like blanks, and if I can find a Rav4 airbag for a decent price Ill probably run it. Also it needs some minor leather repair, and there is a shop in town that I can go to provided they dont charge an arm and a leg.

If you find the rare Manual IS300 wheel it’ll be blanks instead. @Speedytech7 ran that on his truck.
